Based on his post many months ago, I went ahead with a similar setup.

I removed my Mopar tri-fold hard cover, and then installed the Truxedo Elevate TS rail system and the Literider tonneau bed cover.
Huge backups for Yakima products due to the pandemic, I had ordered back in May and only now did my Overhaul HD system get delivered to me, I'm still waiting on the sidebars and some other mounting accessories.
I went with the Yakima Overhaul system to have height adjustment, also went with the 60" HD bars.
Just installed it this morning.

So all in for the Yakima kit (including cross bars and recovery track mounts), + tonneau kit + Elevate rails + lite rider Tonneau cover, it comes out to around $2000 not including tax. I guess thats not too bad.
Something to think about for sure..

I have this same system and now I am going to figure out how to put a rack on the rails so I can roll open the cover.
If you go back 5 posts before yours, it looks like RiderDad27 has found track mounts with the Overland rack that solves your (our) problem. Only I can't get him to reply with the info about the feet he's using. I can't find them on the Overland site -- not even sure that's who makes the feet.

Thank You, I didn't see that post. My friend is a fabricator and he can make about anything. I am going to have him look at my problem and see what we can come up with. When we get something done I will post it.

I will change my set up maybe this winter, but still the old COVID bored out of my mind with parts laying around set up made another 2000+ mile round trip. I get questions and compliments on it from JT owners all the time. It just works.

So I'm looking for some opinions. I want to get a Max Modular rack, probably the 14" tall version. I want to be able to have a tonneau cover that I can open even when the rack is installed. I see that Mox Modular offers tonneau brackets but would I need them for a tonneau like a Truxedo Low Pro that is mounted entirely inboard of the bed rails? I contacted Mox Modular but all the advice they could offer was to purchase a test bracket, which doesn't really help as I haven't selected a tonneau cover yet.

I prefer the look of the rack without the brackets. I am not opposed to the brackets if they are required to make the setup functional.
We came across a customer photo of our 14" Gladiator Max with a Rugged Ridge tonneau cover and this guy has it installed with our standard attachment clips. If you look closely, it appear is did some minor trimming of the cover around the legs of the rack.

Thanks! For me, your 14" rack is perfect. Based on my research I think it may work with an Access Literider cover without Tonneau brackets or trimming. Worst case would be some minor trimming like in your photo. Just have to sell my Diamondback....

That is EXACTLY what I need to do. Thank you. I have that same tonneau cover.

I was able to to build a custom rack using mostly 80/20 that would allow me to still roll up my Truxedo LoPro Tonneau. There are 2 custom fabricated parts, one on each bed rail, but the rest is standard parts bolted together.

No drilling or modification required to the Jeep and the rack can be removed without removing the Tonneau Cover.

Only tools required are a jigs saw, sander and a drill press for machining the bed rail caps.

Can you share pics of how the fabricated bed rails mount to the OEM trail rail?

UPDATE:

I previously had a Doamondback SE on my Jeep with Front Runner load bars. The cover was awesome. Hands down the most secure and overbuilt cover I’ve ever seen. I can only imagine how stout the HD version is. Anyway, I primarily carry bikes and skis. I tried various strategies in mounting the bike trays (1-up USA as I despise removing my front wheel) and ski carriers to retain as much access to the bed as possible but I never came up with a great solution. I pretty much lost access to the top of the bed unless I took the bike trays off. While removing the Diamondback is pretty easy, it can’t be done spontaneously. One must plan whether or not to remove the cover in advance of needing to do so.

So I changed things up and got a @Max Modular 18” rack and paired it with an Access Literider soft tonneau. I am very happy with how it all turned out. I took a chance that I would not need the tonneau brackets for the rack and I lucked out. I can roll the cover all the way to the cab with the rack on allowing full access to the bed for large items. I can carry my bikes. In the winter I will also be able to carry my skis on the top. All while having the ability to access the full bed or close the cover to keep things dry or out of sight. Obviously the tradeoff is security but I am ok with that in the way I use my truck. I can also put my shovel, hi-lifft, some traction boards, awning, and a DIY waterport on this thing all while maintaining full visibility out the back window. I don’t have a RTT nor do I see one in my future so I should be able to do all the above and keep the weight very reasonable.

Can you help me out with some details?
how does the elevate system work with the lite rider cover?
The lite rider comes in 2 versions, one that clamps and one that attaches to rails.
Did you get the clamp version? The elevate system clamps to bed, and the lite rider does too? can you add any photos of how this part is set up?

And then i assume the Yakima portion is easy, i would just need to add the tonneau kit from yakima and it slides directly in to the elevate system?

EDIT: I found the instructions for the elevate rails. So it basically is sandwiched between the tonneau cover and the bed. Is this set up very sturdy? Does it affect the Yakima weight ratings?

EDIT 2: why go with the lite rider Tonneau and not use a truxedo version?

Bottom line, these FrontRunner crossbars with the short legs and Tee Slot mounting feet work "Perfectly" with my Bak Revolver X4 hard rolling tonneau. Okay, nothing is perfect - the X4 doesn't open all of the way, but it works as well as I was hoping.

I liked the look of the FrontRunner rack kit for the Raptor with the Retrax XR retractable tonneau. The Retrax XR, like the X4, comes with a built in Tee slot. Originally, I planned to order the longer legs (about 7.6") for my crossbars. When I found out that the Tee slot mounting plates were only available packaged with the shorter legs (6"), I decided to try out the shorter legs first and then place a 2nd order for the longer legs if I felt I needed them.

Turns out, the shorter legs do just what I need them to do. When you start rolling the X4, it is such a small roll, that it easily clears the rear crossbar with the shorter legs. The roll grows as you move it forward and will not go under the front crossbar. When we test fit the longer legs, the X4 still didn't clear the front crossbar - so I'm pretty sure that I will not be ordering the longer legs.

I only have the 2 crossbars. After mounting them, they seemed very secure with no slop. I put a piece of Armaflex rubber tape under each foot to help prevent scratching (if I decided to relocate the feet) and also to provide a bit of traction in case the roof top tent wanted to move forward (into the rear window) upon hard braking or a collision.

I'm not sure if you can just order a set of crossbars that will come with the Tee slot mounting feet from their website. If you have trouble finding what you need, try calling Front Runner customer service and ask for Farinn. I'm sure they have plenty of reps who can help you, but I am really impressed with how well she was able to talk with their engineering department and get me accurate answers to all of the questions I had.

How has this held up with the RTT on it? any issues with it moving or messing up the alignment on the cover? I am working with FR and about to order the same setup. Do you know the length of your crossbars? I asked for 58" (1475mm)

This doesn’t work well at all.

Why do you say the JRC rack doesn't work well at all?

For me there’s a lot of fiddling going on around the 1st riser. The tonneau cross bar hits the riser and it then falls in the bed. Some fiddling has got to happen at the 3 other risers I’m sure, we just don’t see it in the video. Even with two hands available and practice it’s not “very graceful” shall we say. There’s has to be a better way.

It seems like the easiest solution for most of the rolling tonneau cover meets bed rack wars could be solved by altering the riser angle a couple degrees so they’re a bit more vertical. The racks are going on a brick after all so it’s not like the riser angle is going to make it any more aerodynamic. It might even end up looking like it belongs on a Jeep and not like I just moved it over from the Tacoma I traded in. IMHO
