Just looked again. Drivers side has notch. Passenger side no notch??????My 2020 Max Tow doesn't have this. Build date March.
Yes. And on passenger side. You have that little area where the blue arrow is pointing to?
Most desert runners have their spares in the rear…. And sticking out…. It’s a flight trajectory thing… ???Well these idiots thought so…but even in a true built desert runner the spare tire is in the front of the bed not hanging out past the tailgate.
That's wild. Looks like it might be for clearance.Yes. And on passenger side.![]()
Well that’s interesting……….Just looked again. Drivers side has notch. Passenger side no notch??????
These toys are pretty easy to overload…. Skid plates, beadlocks/big tires, winch, bumpers, recovery gear, some camping gear and two American sized dudes- no dog and you are basically at your allotted weight rating….Even though that notch is there I don’t see it making the frame bend in half unless you run these at high speed and overloaded.
2/22 diesel. No notches on mine.Well that’s interesting……….
So, I haven’t been able to find any info on this gfrc truck for year…
I wonder if it’s a gas/diesel thing…..
22 diesel here no notches on either side…
Anyone with a 22/23 gas confirm if it is a year change deal or a motor change deal.
Dare I add this as another notch in the diesel belt with the cast iron knuckles…. ??12/22 diesel. No notches on mine.
Mine is a 2021 gas engine. No notch. Might just be an early 2020 thing that they later revised.Dare I add this as another notch in the diesel belt with the cast iron knuckles…. ??
What kind of shock is that? Does that bumper on the shock shaft come into play before the frame mounted bumper? Thats exactly the kind of shit creating the frame bendng forces? My early 2020 max tow does as well

Just a cheap twin tube with shaft mounted shock savers. They come into play about the same point. What kind of shock is that? Does that bumper on the shock shaft come into play before the frame mounted bumper? Thats exactly the kind of shit creating the frame bendng forces?
They definitely are. Crawling it’s probably not an issue to worry about. High speed I can see why it’s happening. Big thing is if you want to try the fast thing at least have the common sense to lessen the load.Well that’s interesting……….

I'd cut them off then.......They dont need to be there and it's ust transferring loads forward of the axle.Just a cheap twin tube with shaft mounted shock savers. They come into play about the same point.
Why they aren’t hurting anything. There is no proof the shocks cause this. And I don’t buy that. The 1/8 tabs on the axle should easily deform before or with the frame if shocks are the real reason here.I'd cut them off then.......They dont need to be there and it's ust transferring loads forward of the axle.
You could do us all a solid and go jump it to prove my theory?![]()
