IKR, It’s fun finding the limits of the truck :)

Shrockworks. They are super well built and I have beat the heck out of them. I wish they tucked up a little tighter, but pinch seams are the limiting factor.
Just looked those up. Very reasonably priced in comparison to rock slide or others. You don’t happen to have a belly skid do you? Wondering if the under frame mounting would interfere. Obviously depends on plates. Mine are already paid for. Just waiting…

Do they hide the pinch welds cosmetically? I’ll be ok with clearance when the 37’s go on with the lift, if the suspension parts ever make it past the supply chain issues.
What I mean is that the heavy steel supports on these can’t go higher without cutting the pinch welds. The bars are still higher than the frame, which is great, but I drag them through stuff all the time when leaning.

These pictures will sure a bit more detail:

Nice. Thanks. Whose belly skid is that?

Artec :) Only adds 10 lbs, I <3 it.
I’m waiting on my next venture UHMW belly skid. Delayed, but should be great. Also only adds a few lbs as it replaces the heavy fuel tank skid.

I would not use a soft shackle on a traditional snatch block. I watched a video from Windrock in TN where the snatch block sliced through the soft shackle and sent parts flying.
Yep. Soft shackles are amazing, but don’t use them on metal parts with anything but soft rounded edges. I still have two metal shackles with me all the time. I just use them only if the situation calls for it.

Sharp edges - even the YT videos out there have said that for a long time. Steel shackle (clevis in Iowa terms) and soft shackle for "snatch rings".
Be careful of the 2" receiver recovery points - some are made for soft shackles, some have sharp edges and should only be used with steel, and some are able to work with either one.

I'm a big fan of the GearAmerica stuff. Great folks and USA company and I see them about all the big Jeep events. They make some great aluminum shackles and snatch blocks. I purchased their new Ring and went with the US Sourced version which is ironically cheaper right now than the overseas shit. Obviously you need synthetic winch line to use these types of things but you also need a Synthetic/soft shackle, so that's an added expense if you don't have one. If you need some soft shackles, kinetic recovery rope, or winch line for that matter, check out ASR Offroad. They are awesome, legit good USA products and they are used by our military.... that says something.

Any recommendations?
I use Soft Shackles and I have two Snatch Blocks in my truck - the Factor 55 low friction pulley, and the TRE, Tactical Recovery Equipment Snatch Block. All USA made. The quality is top notch on both, but, the TRE definitely has less friction than the Factor 55, which means more pulling power. they both are designed to be used with Soft Shackles (Chamfered holes).

If I had to pick one, I would pick the TRE snatch Block. It only weights 2 lbs. The single bearing design makes for less friction. TRE Snatch Blocks are to be used with 5/16″-7/16″ synthetic rope. Great Product.
