I'm not aware that Jeep has ever put 35s on a Gladiator. Just the Wrangler.
My mistake. You’re right. I thought the “X” versions had 35’s.. In looking into this further Jeep offers the Extreme Recon package in the Wrangler that has 35’s. Wonder why they don’t offer it in the Glad?
That's the biggest fail of going IFS. Even the full sized raptor has to give up suspension travel to fit 37s. Meanwhile a 2.5" bump stop spacer allowed us to clear 39s on the JLUR and provided enough room to fit shocks with a 12" stroke. It will use every inch of that giving almost 14" of wheel travel up front and 15.5" in the back thanks to the angled shocks. With an IFS rig you'll spend thousands trying to get there and lose travel doing so. Not sure on the Bison or ranger but the Toyota will need body mounts chopped. And then the tie rods and steering rack likely won't hold up in the rocks. Anybody who starts with IFS with the plan to go rock crawling lacks experience and puts too much weight in drive modes, cameras, and off road cruise control as demonstrated in this video. Stock the Bison is close to the gladiator. Dollar for dollar every mod just grows the gap. Put $3-5k into each truck and it's not even close anymore.
Yeah, no shit! So , you take a desert runner vs everyone's best off road machine. Why not compare Jeeps best off roader, Rubicon. Then they state that the Colorado's 35 inch tires really helped out a lot. Then you have people driving the trucks that don't know how to use them. This video was good just to look, but these guys don't seem to know what they are doing. We all know off roading comes down to 2 things; the right equipment (Rubicon) and a driver that knows how to use their equipment.
And a base rubicon is $11k less than the base zr2 bison. Even with 37s, 3.5" of lift, cross over steering, and the triangulated 4 link rear I don't have $62k into my mojave. Even without the front locker none of the IFS rigs are keeping up in the rocks. Even in the desert I can keep up with my buddies Bronco Raptor and that thing was $90k. If off roading is your primary concern the Jeep wins. If you want the best road ride and some off road capability the other trucks are great.

The IFS rigs need a front locker as they are often hanging at least a front tire in the air if not a front and a rear especially lifted. I'll take articulation and all 4 tires on the ground even with 1 locker in my experience. Even on trails like the rubicon, John Bull, and Pritchett canyon our JLUR almost never needed the rear locker and I think the front has been used twice. Long travel shocks and 39s provide a lot of traction.
And everywhere off-road except low speed crawling. There's a reason all of baja and half of the top Ultra4 class is IFS.
The same line of thinking followed by the Bronco crowd. Look at the IFS on an ultra 4 car or score truck and then look at a Bronco, tacoma, etc. 7" of wheel travel vs 20". Cast aluminum A arms that are a foot long vs 2' long tube steel with centered mounts not mounts outside the frame. The only reason the raptor has decent travel is it's as wide as a Freightliner. The standard IFS on these rigs has more in common with a Honda civic than an ultra 4 car. What are the other half of those competitors running again? But solid axles don't work at speeds?
