Will agree; something looks lopsided on the driver one. I wonder if you printed two of the "new" versions and only have that on the jeep if it would look better; perhaps the old version makes our perception wonky. I also prefer the old version; makes changing the actual light unit easier if anything were to fail down the line.

Damnnnnnnn

Took the words right out of my mouth, lol I said the same thing as soon as I saw the pics. And I said it out loud. One of my staff thought I was talking to her. I had to back out of that one gracefully.

So I test fitted the new version yesterday.... I don't like it at all.. might even use the word hate it lol

They look huge on it, and for some reason on the sides at the bottom the lights bulge out.... Turns out the gladiator bulges out at the bottom on the side... Don't know how I never noticed this but now I see it with my current lights I have on too.

I'm doing a complete redesign. I need to shorten the tail lights height and make it longer.

Also the bottom angle is way off.

I'll post a picture but I really don't want to... It makes me like my first version way better....

it looks big because af the negative/empty space in the middle. How about adding at the bottom above the light a horizontal reverse light to fill in the space

I like the new version more then the original. I also like the white lens seeing it on the truck now. The ring of lights looks more updated and newer, the off the shelf light now looks cheap to me for some reason. I would suggest separating the reverse all together. Put a smaller horizontal strip in the middle to only serve the reverse and bring the bottom up to match up with the line in the tailgate.

Another thought would be not having the reverse lights in it at all for anyone who has reverse lights where the reflectors are in the bumper.

Those pics of the new light off the jeep were fire, but seeing it on the jeep with version 1... It does look off and makes v1 look much better, not that it was ever bad. I know you're putting a bunch of time and resources into this and I appreciate it bc you're making some fantastic looking taillight options and it feels like we're apart of this ride.

All the work you're doing is great! The new ones do look a bit off...Just too much open space.

Maybe someone in this thread that is proficient with Photoshop (assuming you don't use it) can make a whack of versions to save you time building?

The design I have printing right now is cut off at that line.

Not sure when I will be home today, but hope to test fit and see how it looks.

Let me think about the reverse... I like you're thinking.... I definitely prefer everyone have the reflector reverse lights ... But it will be nice to have reverse in the tail for people also.

I gotta say, I am having a really tough time seeing what you all are talking about with ver2. Ver1 follows the same lines it looks like. It is just not as noticeable without the while/clear lens. I for one really like the look of ver2 installed.

I am not 100% sure, but I wonder if 2 rings, red outside, white inside might make it better for brightness, but also make the middle empty space less prominent.

You're absolutely correct. After seeing it on version 2 I also see it on version 1 now. I might even redesign version 1.

I'm going to experiment with 2 lenses. I first need to make sure everything is bright enough with the white LEDs and red lens...

Hopefully I will know tonight.

How ever you go, I agree with the others. You are doing awesome work and it is extremely fun to watch you work through the process. I know that it is frustrating at times when things do go as expected, but remember what Edison said. "I have not failed 700 times. I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 700 ways will not work."

While the quote may not be 100% accurate, its intent is still the same. Don't let frustration get you down and cause undue self criticism. This is uncharted territory and you won't know if something will/won't work until you try it. Keep up the excellent work!

I’ve been lurking on this thread for awhile now. I’m digging v1 and v2. Have you considered smoking the lens on v2? I think it would definitely help with the look and make it not seem so “big”.

Thank you for the awesome words! I'm not one to give up by any means. I have fun trying to find solutions to the problems.

Just hope I can create something great and unique
