I suggest you keep trying I’ve sent 5 people from San Diego to him so far based on our conversations and I haven’t even ordered mine yet
So far I am getting a quote here for Invoice. 5% under invoice would only save me $2500. With a 10 hour drive on each side, counting gas, vacation days, and a hotel, I'm not sure I would make that money back.
Thank you for sharing your information though.

Fair enough. I think I just love Boise so much that any excuse to travel up there, to me, is a good one.

Side not I’d like to kick myself the house I started to buy up there 5 years ago just sold again for $325k more than I would have paid

I left him a voice mail yesterday. haven't heard back.

Kent's hit or miss on communication, but is more responsive if you give him your exact build and not just kicking tires. Part of getting the larger discounts is he's juggling tons of orders so don't expect someone to handhold you and give you daily updates.

When I placed my Granite LE order on 4/3 he was solid on phone calls that day getting the order placed, then communication has been almost non-existent, but with the Granite LEs not getting built I wouldn't expect much from him. I e-mailed him 2 weeks ago frustrated with my Granite LE orders lack of progress, and he responded and offered a Silver LE that should be coming in this week (and then went radio silent again). Hoping to be up there next week to pick mine up. @2020 SCRAMBLER just picked up his last week from Kent and said he great when he was there.

Yeah, I don't particularly care for salespeople in general, but one that doesn't have time for me would drive me nuts! hahaha
Good luck getting your build!

You have to keep in mind that this guy (Kent @ Peterson in Idaho) is focused on high volume to make his pricing model work. For what you are paying (-7% of Invoice), he provides an excellent service.

There’s Jeep Chat which I communicated with 1 -2x per week and that kept me up to date on the build. They know as much as the dealer and are available 24x7 instantly online.

If you need help to determine your options or just feel better about updates directly from your sales person, then Kent may not be the person for you.

Here in the L.A. market, Gladiators command $5 - $20K markups over MSRP. Local dealers laughed at matching a -7% of invoice price. Going to Idaho with Kent’s pricing saved me a minimum of $10 - $15K. He and his team are straightforward and no pressure too, which was refreshing.

I’m an auto dealers worst critic. Car shopping and trying to reach a reasonable sales price with a dealer usually really pisses me off. Last car I shopped for I literally walked out of a dealership in the middle of negotiations because of all the games they were trying to play. Kent is the first time I’ve EVER said I’d buy from the same dealer/salesperson again.

If you need help to determine your options as well as multiple updates weekly personally delivered to you after you order then Kent may not be the person for you.

If you need more attention then feel free to give away more of your hard earned money to another dealer for the exact same vehicle.
I'm not sure why you are getting so defensive. I didn't say that no one should buy from him. I merely stated that it didn't make sense for me. I'm glad that you found a dealer that you like.

Not meaning to be defensive. Thought I'd wrote most of that post as just matter-of-fact. Guess parts of it could be interpreted as sharp, so I edited it. :)

If you are only saving $2,500 it may not make much sense to go to ID. If nothing else, you should take an ID quote into your local dealer...it would cost you ~$750 to ship it...so tell them to come within $750 of the ID price!

By any chance, do you have Kent's email address? Leaving phone messages doesn't seem to work.

Kent emailed back, it looks like he's willing to give me 6% under invoice. That would save me about $2827ish. Obviously there are still unknowns that would affect the overall price. ie. trade in value, financing apr, dealer incentives on extended warranties and such. But that's where it is for just the price of the vehicle.
Looks like we're going to have at least a week before Hydro is released, so there's still time to make a final decision.

I may have to follow-up with him. I still haven't heard back from him yet.

Sending eMail does seem to work best. He was offering 7% but that required you to be a member of Tread Lightly. Or maybe 7% was just on Rubicons or with his former bank that was underwriting the vehicle loans?

I am ordering a Rubi, and we didn't discus financing, so it must be the Tread Lightly deal, but he didn't ask me about that either.
