How much are the actual filters after this $700 kit? Seems like it would no make sense based on $.

There is really no drop in pressure? I'm intrigued by this but find it hard to believe that by going from a +20 micron down to +1 micron you wouldn't see any differences. It would seem to me the oil pump would have to work harder, and result in premature wear down... or am I missing something here (I'm not an engineer or mechanic).

Just my guess, the surface area has been increased to allow more flow even though tighter filtration. The relationship of the 2 are proportional to flow.

I installed the Filtration Solutions on a Ford 7.3 years ago. I can honestly say, at least the Filtration Solutions one, does work. They don't run all the oil through the filter with each pass like a typical oil filter. They pull only a certain amount of oil (if I remember right it's like 10%) at a time.

amsoil makes a universal remote system FYI. Would love to know where one taps into.

Like stated above the bypass filter doesn't replace to OEM filter, it is a secondary filter that filters about 10% of the oil at a time to pull more particulate out of the oil then the OEM can. Amsoil suggests a filter is good for about 60K miles or 2 years.

I'm a big fan of high quality lubes and filtration, but not sure it's really worth the expense or risk while still under warranty. If you have an oil related failure, you know the dealer will point out that filter kit and if you are running extend3ed drains regardless of if they are related to the failure.

I just got my UOA back after 7K miles with multiple tows and it was still suitable for continued use with Amsoil 5W40 and the stock filter?
