Kill switch and insurance. Done.

I'm with this... why go through all the trouble of fake can-bus when people are just cloning remotes now and don't even need all the fancy OBD/CANBUS hacking?Kill switch and insurance. Done.
I bought this decal a while back. I need to put it on. Obviously it will look better once the paper is removed.I'm a fan of this method.........fuck around and find out
My son put a kill switch on the TJ. The wife can't figure it out and she was trained how to use it.Kill switch and insurance. Done.
The DMAX isn’t capable of extracting the PIN required to program a fob on these newer RF Hubs, but I do have a cheaper fob programmer that can.Is anyone making a plate that inhibits access to the can bus star connectors behind the glove box? Like a steel plate with security screws? Wanted to check if i could buy one before i made one. This would prevent someone from using a DMAX (https://www.aetools.us) and programmer plugged into the can bus to flash new key fobs.
could almost just be angle iron with two holes and replace those two bolts with safety screws.

My plan was to use a tazer in the gateway protected in a metal enclosureThe DMAX isn’t capable of extracting the PIN required to program a fob on these newer RF Hubs, but I do have a cheaper fob programmer that can.
Either way, aside from trying to restrict access to the star can blocks, you would also have to restrict access to the easier method to plug into the bus- the gateway connectors. That’s where you would normally plug the fob programmer into anyway, via one of these:

I think brawler fab makes a box for the tazer. My plan was to use a tazer in the gateway protected in a metal enclosure
This is the easiest and cheapest solution. I use a similar concept, but there’s no aftermarket switch, no cut/tapped wires, remote start still works, and they can program a pile of fobs or relay fob signals all they want.Kill switch. Make it so you don't care if the thief has your fob. Too complex dicking with the vehicle buses.
Thanks, didn't realize that partI think brawler fab makes a box for the tazer.
Keep in mind that once a tazer is plugged in, the OBD port is now unsecured with direct access to both busses, so that would need to be protected or relocated.
Here in NH, it's also pretty common for cars to be broken into at trailheads. But most of the time it's just junkies looking for something they can sell. Cars generally don't get stolen.it sure is a shame that we have to even worry this much about our personal property.... :-(
I know the last 5 years or so that I lived in Washington state I wouldn't even go hiking anymore because it was well known cars were broken into. and of course police and prosecutors did nothing. they actually went so far as to tell people to just 'buy a junker car'. pretty sad how commonplace it is these days.
