Missing the Maximus-3 overland rack, not fully out for normal consumer, and little "published" data on it. right now they are proceeding through pre-orders
Do you have a link for that? I cant find it anywhere

Max Modular half heights are 10 and 14, wish they where longer, the make a 56" but not for the gladiator which has a 60 in long bed. Been looking for a while now, still cant make up my mind, when I think I got it figured out, it changes again. Would love something like Fish bone in Aluminum for less weight. Could always make my own from 80/20 extruded aluminum channel. Lots for the Toyota overlander folks have made there own that way. Did they failed ra cks have tonneau brackets? Would think those on an rack would make the substantially less strong?

they do not have it available on their website yet, they said that they are not putting it out for orders until they have the list of people form this forum completed.....in another thread they gave some basic info, but not enough to place in the matrix

Thanks for the info and the Excel sheet, you've saved me some time. Man this is prefect timing. I just ordered my RRT and need something to hold it up! Similar issues as others, not one rack fits all of my needs, at least at around $1000 which is where I'd like to keep it. I'm leaning Road Armor because it would be nice to be able to have it shorter for a RTT but then higher if I needed to haul long lumber (which I sometimes need to do), but it's more than I wanna spend. Also would need a solution over the cab for that. What I don't like is that the sides of the bed become largely inaccessible for many of the racks, but I like the swing up feature of the ZRoadZ. Then availability becomes an issue for some of these before spring hits!
Fishbone, Max Modular, and JCR seem like good options too. And the ones that require the rail trail system are a no go. I'm not gonna spend an extra $300 just to mount the damn thing.

Most (not all) of the racks will work without the rail system. They typically will come with C clamps. If I get some more time I will modify the spreadsheet to be more precise on that point.

Yeah the Leitner for one requires it, I know that, and I think Rebel Off Road does too although they will sell you a similar system for less than Mopar. Leitner is out for me because after the cost I still have to pay for their storage boxes that are terribly expensive. The system over all doesn't seem as modular or adaptable to adding things without their hardware.

2-8-21 ETA: Spreadsheet updated to include suggestions...

In an effort to try to answer a lot questions in one place, I am in the process of creating a comprehensive matrix of all the Gladiator bed rack options available and their corresponding specs. I am in the process myself of evaluating rack options so I figured my research could help others. I will update the missing fields as I find them. Most of this info was gleaned from the webpages of each company. Some companies offer a lot of data while others offer very little beyond a basic description of the rack. Comments are welcome and appreciated. I guarantee there are mistakes and omissions. If I missed some racks (I'm sure I did) please comment below and I will get them added. I will work to fill in the unknowns as I gather more info from calling each company. I also included the Excel file as an attachment if anyone wants a copy.

Will you be adding a column for lead times?

If so, our orders are shipped 2 to 3 business days after order placement

Ha nice flex, hey does the tanneau brackets reduce the dynamic capacity of your rack?

Also - would you say the aluminum is actually stronger than the steel or no - I know you have both listed with the same ratings, just curious. Trying to decide what benefits the aluminum would give over steel. Would using additional bars you sell on your site make it stronger? I don't want the rack to fail with a tent on it off-road.

I don't know why I haven't seen yours yet. Looks very nice for a good price point.

The tonneau brackets do not change the dynamic capacity of the rack.

The aluminum rack has a some small added material in the design that gives it more strength while still being about 33% lighter than its steel counterpart. The weight savings would be the biggest advantage along with the corrosion resistance of aluminum depending on where you live and when you would be using the rack.

You can definitely add additional top bars and side panels (depending the the height you choose) to make it stronger, but we have never see a rack fail with a tent on it.
