Installed a Donetic CFX 75dz into the back seat of the diesel gladiator. Ran it off the center console aux power house plug on my latest trip to Michigan.

I only ran it off this while vehicle was running.
At some point my battery died and inhave been jump starting it since. It’s had a few hours of running for the alternator to charge it up but just no response. It’s dead.
I’m wondering if the fridge is consuming more power than the Jeep can create while running? Or if it’s just time for a new battery?
Anyone experience anything similar

On most of my trips I have a fridge with about 60W consumption hooked up for 8-10 hours without any problems.

Either you have issues with you battery or with your alternator. Or with something else ...

2021 original battery? it is time to replace both the main and auxiliary batteries
I believe they are both original. I was hoping this would be the problem. Thank you.

Anyone have any suggestions for the best lithium replacement starter battery for a 21 diesel JT

I plan on a redarc dual system next year and will be using their auxiliary lithium for that

That last sentence covered it for sure.

Not sure you can replace the OEM battery with Lithium, Jeep charging is setup for AGM, the lithium battery system you are thinking about will tie them together with. Dc/Dc charging system. Do a little research into their systems. I am running a ARB 63 off a AGM dual battery system with a 100 watt solar panel on cap roof and have gone several days this summer without killing the house battery…..Jack

I have an ARB Zero fridge installed, but wired direct. Never had an issue with it until my auxiliary battery died. I deleted the aux battery and replaced the original with a better one. 39 months on the original batteries was better than I expected.

It doesn't make a lot of sense for me to do a traditional dual battery system anymore. I use to run them as lithium and solar was not an option back then. Now adays, I think a separate lifepo4 house battery would serve our purposes better. You can still wire it up for both solar and dc-dc charging but keep it separate from your mains for less complication. I also carry one of those lithium jumper pack. They're small and portable. My 100ah lipo4 has been running continuously in the bed with a fridge for a couple of years with no issue.

This is my set up as well. Using a Redarc BCDC charge controller wired to the main battery and powering a 100 aH BattleBorn battery for my fridge etc. works great. On the days where I’m not moving I have a 100amp Overland Solar blanket that I drape across the windshield (pointing South of course).

As others have said you’ll need an AGM battery for the Jeep. I recently replaced my main battery with the best one available at Walmart. That way I can get warranty service just about anywhere. I got the second battery at our local Advance Auto. Replace both for the best results.

Would this eliminate my ability to charge from the alternator?

The Jeep electrical system is designed for AGM batteries. Anything else needs to have a charge controller between the battery and the Jeep charging system. Lithium batteries require special attention based on the environment they are used in and whether or not they have a built-in charge controller.

No, a properly set up system will charge the vehicle battery, and the house battery from your alternator. You can also add in a solar system if you have the space which will charge the house battery when the vehicle isn't running.

I had Zero Declination do my system up here in Reno and am extremely happy with it.

Ive installed, torn down and serviced more lithium batteries than I could even guess at without pulling company data. Its many thousands.
Don’t run lithium as the starter battery. Get a group 94 AGM and disable the aux battery system. If you wanna run something like that full time either get a Genesys dual setup or get a lithium battery with a charger controller.
