I think the dislike of the stop-start is more from the older crowd who had unreliable vehicles in their past. It's not the fuel consumption/no oil pressure etc. reasons that disturb me, it's the sinking feeling from years past of "oh crap! the engine just died!" Freaks me out.
I can see that for sure after dealing with my jku randomly dieing after i botched a spark plug install.

Personally i dont really mind the feature. Sorta got used to it with my wife’s grand cherokee. Not really sure it it saves me on fuel but i like to think its helping keep down the engine idle hours in very small doses.

Where ya gonna put it? Hmm...
How about next to the main battery like the aftermarket battery tray does.
The Genesis tray (not sure about any others) requires the purchase of two physically smaller batteries and removal of the main battery.

Can't use stock sizes then. There's not enough space so you have to go physically smaller. (wonder what that does to CCA, etc.)

The thread is much more enjoyable now that ive “ignored” whatexit. Outstanding feature for this forum when confronted with toxic children.
That's a good thing Matthew. You don't want to take your Gladiator off road (cuz you broke your last Jeep) and you're asking about upgrading the sway bars. I get where you're coming from now

I've changed batteries in the store parking lot, took the old one in for core. That's not going to happen with this buried battery.
You’ve changed the ESS battery?! Puhleez

Shouldn’t I be getting measurbly worse gas mileage because I am not utilizing this wonderful feature?
That would be funny except I suspect you are serious. The answer - hell no. It totally depends on the driving conditions - in our area stop lights can actually leave you sitting (I have stop-watched this with my phone) TWO minutes. You want it idling for 2 minutes?
Most are shorter, yes but if you take an average you are talking a good 30 seconds around here. Then like two days ago - restaurant - of course no dine in so you order and get in line. What do you do - leave it running 2 or 3 minutes?
It's going to depend totally on driving conditions, TRAFFIC, and more.
I know it matters, it helps, I've experimented enough to see that. And the engineers know this too. Jeep isn't exactly known for MPG anyway and with CAFE rules insisting on corporate averages - when you make trucks, SUVs and Jeeps - something has to happen.
Then there's the states, municipalities, counties, cities with mandates.......right NOW, most are diesel-aimed, and most that do cover gas powered vehicles, cars, trucks and so on, exclude "sitting in a line of traffic..." but it's getting more strict every year.

This is an example of a law - but it DOES exclude sitting in a line of traffic, the limit otherwise is three minutes (so waiting in a line at a drive-through can exceed that easily)
Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:27-14.3, no person may cause, suffer allow or permit the engine of a gasoline fueled motor vehicle to idle for more than three consecutive minutes on streets within the Township of Princeton if the vehicle is not in motion with the following exceptions:
(a) The above provisions shall not apply to:
(1) Autobuses while discharging or picking up passengers;
(2) Motor vehicles stopped in a line of traffic;

Ah, sway bars. You should see the threads out there in our AMC forum about sway bars. Bigger is always better - until they lose control because of a serious over-steer or under-steer condition caused by the stiffer sway bar.
But that's different than the links likely being discussed here. The links don't count.

Anyway, I bet there's at least 70 ignoring my posts. Wonder if I can check. I have no social filter so I'm very abrupt. If that dress makes you look fat, I'm gonna tell you it does. Don't ask me an opinion unless you want to hear it. I hate the Fakebook posts where someone posts something butt ugly or absolutely dangerous or stupid and everyone likes or loves it, afraid to tell how they REALLY feel. (until I come along LOL)
The emperor is wearing no clothes and I'll say so.

You may be onto something....... but I also see cases of it's a control issue. Someone else is doing something they don't like so they hate it.
They don't have control over it.
Yes, they do!
It's called BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE. You can have it NOT stop if you don't wait until 20 feet before the light to smack the brake pedal like a teen then hold it like the Jeep has 600 HP chomping at the bit to go.

I fail to see the "problem" other than control - it's doing something they don't like. It's not preventing taking off again, it's not like sitting at the tree waiting for that bottom light to turn green and then you see your reaction time is .75 seconds instead of .2

If I don't want the engine to shut off, I don't push the brake pedal with 200 pounds of force and lock it down. I still stop just fine - the brakes on these are GREAT! The pedal is sensitive to pressure. Less pressure, it stops but won't trigger an engine kill. More pressure, it still stops and triggers an engine kill. Want it running again, let up very slightly and the engine is going before the light turns - but perhaps some are taking off BEFORE it turns green. I'd bet on that, too.

That's exactly how I learned to control it before I even bought the JT. I decided to mess around with it and found hey - I can control what it does with the touch on the brake pedal. If I see the light turning yellow for the other street - I let up on the brake just a bit and the engine starts, and I go when I get the green. I've noted a difference in the driving around here as far as MPG.
It stopped working last week on my wife's Grand Cherokee and she's asked me to look into getting it working again........
She likes the lower emissions idea (never want's IA to become like CA with their restrictions) and likes the better mpg - and less idling.

The idea of a factory V8 swap program at the dealer will never go main stream. But as long as we have a wish list thread going...
@JeepCares are you listening? V8 in the Gladiator!!!!

I agree with several of these.

Mirrors, omgosh yes. Move them.
Locking center console... why was it removed? Honestly didn't even notice if I could lock the glove box. Side arm currently resides in the console. There are other things I might like to lock away when the doors are off. This is stupid to the extreme.

To give credit where credit is due, the radio is MUCH better than my 18 JKU and prior. Crack the windows and you couldn't hear it. Without paying for the Alpine system, the sound quality is oh so much better.
My center console And glove box both lock (also behind the rear seats too). isn’t that a standard feature?

I gotta say, in my opinion, and it was only mentioned once in this thread is the soft top! Why wouldn’t it come all the way down and rest behind the rear headrests on the bed? You could even tie it down or something if you wanted. Must be a design thing? It looks SO BAD in that weird flying high position. Just my two cents.
Purposely designed for a truck to be out of the bed to avoid messing with payload. It’s function over form. Best soft top I’ve ever had - looks goofy but can’t see if from my drivers seat and I don’t care what anyone else thinks about the man bun.
