You could try reaching out to MRTuning directly. I haven't done that yet

Idk what gears you have but the pinion gets smaller the higher ratio you go. That on top of 39s puts increased stress on components. Pinion, ujoint etc. Add on an extra 80ftibs from a tune and pop goes the weasel.

Good info. I didn’t realize that. I’m running 4.88 gears. Also a 70 in the rear and 1350 drive shafts. Not sure if that makes a difference on the stress on the pinion though but the u joints are pretty stout

Lol. That combo will be fine. Didn't realize you weren't on the stock 44. 4.88 isn't big enough to worry about the pinion.

Just found this post by a guy testing a bunch of the vendors tunes (Reckless, MR Tuning, SFT, GDE). Looks like it was on the Ram 1500 though and about a year old so likely all of them have improved their tunes at this point.

Called the diesel dudes just to ask a few questions after watching that video. He said they have no full kits or even parts for the gladiator or Wrangler for that matter. I Just got an Eco diesel and am looking to get everything done at once but have been surprised by the lack of availability and information for gladiator specifically. I can get an exhaust done locally but want to be dialed in the right kit/tuning.

In the process of a delete after the fuel pump recall was done. Leaving the EGR in place for now. Have EOC tuned ECU. My question is: What do you do with the EGR tube that used to connect below the DPF? Does that need to be blocked off? In theory, the valve on the EGR should be closed, and the sensors are disconnected. Do I need to do anything else?

These tuner companies don't put out instructions. They just recommend professional installation (which is bullshit because no shop in the US will touch this work).

In my area many people still are doing deletes, but the EPA is stepping up on enforcement. Also if they treat cars the same as Semi trucks you will be completely without any dealership support. Peterbilt will do no work on truck with delete, and they will not take them on trade without you undeleting the engine.

Agree. Not saying I wouldn't do it. Just saying I wouldn't tell the internet I'm doing it. People have been getting gestapo visits. Mostly performing the service or selling parts, but be careful these days.

What would break because of the tune?
I have tuned /delete every diesel truck I have owned. What will break, this is dependent on how you run it ( drive like you stole it) and how hot the tune is ( Advanced timing and fueling)

Some thing to understand. A diesel is an air pump. throttle is controlled by the fuel injectors, this is why diesel suck at engine braking. So if you advance the timing too far and do not have enough fuel it will run very lean and hot. This tends to melt pistons. This is why monitoring EGT ( Exhaust gas temps ) is important.

Simple steps to hot rod a diesel. More timing, More fuel and more air. Timing is done thru the computer, Fuel a combination of computer and larger injectors, air is all Turbo. More power bigger turbo. Get the combination right and you have a clean burning monster. Get it wrong, you roll coal, soot the motor up or melt it down.

I have read folks are making 500HP with these v6 motors. Cooling is the key there. Adding another 80#ft of torque is likely not going to hurt anything even stock unless you drive like a drag racer. That is not the fault of the tuning...
