If you look closely at your muffler you will see a small pin hole at its lowest point. It's there for water drainage to help minimize rust in the system. Sometimes they put drainage points in other places also including clamped areas for that same purpose. You might hear a small sputter when running but it.s usually as I explained. At the connection right before the muffler I heard a noticeable exhaust leak. I crawled underneath and found lots of exhaust leaking at the clamp. Took off the clamp and found an obvious source of the leak, a bump in the pipe at the sealing surface. It almost looks like it is supposed to be there..
Can any of you confirm if this is for some reason intentional? Seems like quite the miss on quality control at many stages..
The dealership says they won't be able to look at it (after dropping it off) for at least a week and they don't have any loaner cars. If they have to order parts, who knows how long they would have it and we'd have to rent a car. It would cost us many hundreds of dollars just so they can fix something they screwed up on.
Considering the price of the Jeep, I was hoping to not have to deal with stuff like this. Also have 3 rock chips in the first 4 days of ownership.. These things should come with a paint pen.
Not a great start here Jeep..
