I'd agree - back in 2020. But, if I was selling the wheels and tires from my current JT, no one with a 2022 or later 2021 could use the TPMS....... or am I wrong?
Was there not a running change in the 2021 model year?
My gut says agree because it's a little thing that can make it very convenient for the buyer, but Jeep threw in a curve ball.
I'm in a situation with my current JTO if I trade it, I'd love to just keep the wheels and tires I have and move them straight over to a new truck, but I can't. TPMS..........
Unless that was only for Rubicon??????
I just did this & had the dealer swap the sensors at n/c. I have a good dealer!

TPMS systems are still used. If you do sell your new take-off wheels/tires/TMPS set up, make interested buyers aware of the part number change mid-year 2021. It all depends on the year and when it was built.

When I sold my 2022 JTM set up, I knew that I had the second design TPMS (being a 2022).
The guy that bought mine went on his 2022 Sport. They worked perfectly. Keep in mind, the early design and the late design part numbers are not interchangeable.

So, if your JT is a 2021 model year, look in the driver door jamb to see the build date. If it is before June 2021, you likely have the first design TPMS. Those will only work with pre-June 2021 builds.
Thanks. My Sport was built in Sept 2020 as a 2021 MY... I'm thinking it's worth saving these TPMS for my own truck when I ever get new wheels. (c; Based on this thread, I'll likely be pulling the rubber off the rims and selling them separately anyway. (Mojave wheels are much more widely sought after than Sport wheels.)

That is a good plan. Put them on a shelf and hang on to them. You'll save $$ down the road.

I’m always on fb marketplace looking for takeoff parts. $300 was about the going rate I’d seen for my area sold as a set (wheel and tire), but are now listed for nearly twice that lately. Not sure how long they stay listed or how much they take an offer for them. I recently bought 4 like new Bridgestone Duelers for $200 for the tires only. I don’t know that there’s much market on wheels alone, I don’t see many come up.

Something to keep in mind is that they’ll also fit Grand Cherokees, that might help expand your market a bit.

Have the tires peeled off, take out the TPMS, pitch the wheels, sell the tires, hold onto or sell the TPMS.

I tried for 6 months to sell silver sport wheels with all season tires with 650 miles in them for $150. Then lowered to $100. Finally gave them away.

I had been trying to look out for sport wheels for sale in my area. I don't plan on getting new ones any time soon but I rarely see any in my neck of the woods. I guess people don't bother posting them since they don't think there's any interest. (to be fair I'm not looking to pay much for one, and driving any significant distance is going to cost me anyway).

I did get new tires so I have my 5 sitting in my tool shed right now. I tried my best to give them away to friends/family that might have a close enough fit but nobody seemed remotely interested.

Couldn’t sell or even give away. I’m in the Phoenix area and they are a dime a dozen. Ended up putting a 37” tire on one and use it as my spare. The other 3 are in the garage.
Same, nobody wanted for even $100 in Orlando. The Max tow ATs were too big for all those that called.

Those actually look sharp on the Grand Cherokee, IMO

I could not sell mine either. I approached the Automotive Teacher at our local Career Technology Academy and asked if he would be interested in the set for his class. He was excited to take them from me and I got a donation receipt for $1,600. Since I couldn't find someone to pay me for them at least I can give the government a little less of my money this year with the tax write off.

I love the stock sport wheels but I'd be a lot happier without the Jeep on them. I ended up with three full sets total that turned into 4+1 on the truck, a spare in the garage, and the other 6 and tires traded away for things when I moved across country.

Going to replace them when I step up to 37s to get rid of the spacers too and I'll just hold on to them for the trade-in/sale/insurance if it ever comes to any of those.

Sold my Overland wheels/tires on FB marketplace for $400. Local guy wanted bigger tires on his 2020 Cherokee. He was kinda going for a more tough look.

This has me wondering if mojave take-offs would fit on my FIL's grand cherokee WK summit. tirerack doesn't show 17s as an option on that vehicle, so probably a case of too small rims, too big tires.
