Bit of snow in Big Bear. Lotta ice under 6"-12" of snow in some spots. Lots of trails with fresh powder and no tracks which are fun till you can't go any further. If someone can finish 2n71 for me that would be great.

Went to a place called Tortilla Flat today and explored some trails I haven’t been on before. Tortilla Flats trail was really fun! Rocky ledges, mud and scenery for days. Good times!

Took a group of 6 Jeeps up Windrock, on a very muddy day. Took them to see the old radar base and went up to Caryville Flats.
From what I was told, the old base was built around the same timeframe as the Manhattan Project, which took place in the town of Oak Ridge down in the valley below.

The cap is on top of the driver's side bed, the filler neck assembly right below it between the outer and inner bed panels -

Other states are closing trails. Arizona is opening trails! After a 19 year wait, one of my favorite trails was reopened today.

In 2005 we had a large wildfire that destroyed a large section of desert, and it became off limits to protect it against excessive erosion. I had all but given up on it ever opening again but for the last 10 years a group of volunteers (www.tralaz.org) have been working with the forest service to do trail repairs and maintenance so we could use it again.

Trail 42 follows the Verde River between two different lakes, and is a twisty rollercoaster ride through a beautiful AZ desert landscape. I’m so happy that it’s open again! Enjoy the pics-
