Another update... Final part arrived today to the dealer. They said that they will start working on my Gladiator by end of the week and should have it complete by end of next week. Fingers crossed they actually start tearing it down this week and everything goes smoothly and is done right.

I wonder what will happen if yours gets fixed, then falls under the recall. Another new pump?

My Vin doesn't come up on the recall and the dealer and Jeep won't label it under the recall even though the issue is exactly what is described in the recall.

Yea a few others on here don't either, and we are within the time frame. Makes me think they are shorting the actual recall numbers, or staging in groups. They supposedly don't have a revised part or fix yet...

I believe the recall is supposed to start Q2 of 2023, so they may have the parts or are stocking up on them right now. But i'm not sure if the parts that the dealer received for my repairs are part of the recall or not.

Ugg this thread was one of the reasons I made a change. A CP4 truck outside of recall range failing. I prize reliability for remote camping, combined with the high diesel prices that are supposed to be permanent due to various factors, I traded in the JTRD.

For what's it's worth, I had a conversation with a diesel mechanic this week and asked him about issues at his dealership with CP4's. He works on GMC's (Duromax) He told me the biggest issue was that GMC didn't put a lift pump in the fuel tank, causing air or whatever to get to the CP4.
His personal truck has a Duromax and he claims to have retrofitted a lift pump AND switched his CP4 to a CP3! He said it's the same bolt pattern, he just had to adjust the pressure parameters.
I don't know that much about diesel engines, but he seemed trustworthy and honest. (and a former combat Marine)
Are the CP4's on the bigger engines different than what's on our Eco's?
I wonder if Jeep is gearing up to do retrofits?

You're lucky you were able to limp it to the dealer. i was not able to get it throw any codes or even start so i had to wait for a tow into the dealer. Now i have to play the waiting game with them and see if it is the CP4 and if they have one or how long it will take for it to arrive. Not the way i was hoping to start 2023
which dealer are you at?

I would like to know exactly what the differences are between the pump that is coming off and the pump that is going back on for the recall. What was changed to make it more reliable?

Nothing?

Just hoping to make it out of remaining warranty? ? I sure hope it's a permanent fix this time! Love this truck.
