I do not have any inside information or anything like that, just reading various articles and such across the internet has lead me to believe that the diesel option is not to be any longer. None of us will know anything for sure until late Summer or early Fall when the announcement about the new model lineup is made, but the current expectation is that a 4xe option will be offered to replace the diesel option. Supposedly this will be done because with the 4xe you can get the torque something in line with the diesel option that the gas v6 doesn't have.

I only discovered the diesel was an option very shortly before the stop sale order was issued. I had thought it would be a great way to get in a Gladiator a similar hp and torque range that I currently have with my 2018 Ram 5.7L v8 hemi.

I do like the Ram, but thought I would be more comfortable in the smaller Gladiator as I do end up doing a lot of driving in the heart of downtown and you sometimes don't have a lot of room to maneuver around with. So at the moment I'm trying to decide if I want to go with the 3.6L v6 Gladiator or stay in the Ram.

Having had a Ram 1500, 2500 and now my third Gladiator, I can say you'll really enjoy the Gladiator if you're looking for a capable midsize truck that's easy to maneuver.

I concur, the gladiator is significantly easier to maneuver than a 1500. The diesel and the gas are no where near the power experience of the 5.7 though, the diesel has comparable torque but low HP so it gets off the line and then huffs for breath was what it felt like to me. The v6 has neither so it just screams a lot, but does ok if you gear it deep.

I went to test drive a 21 JTRD today. I have been debating what to do. I sold my JTR last year and I miss it but the 3.6 just wasn't a good fit in my opinion.

I recently picked up a JTR and sold my Overland diesel. The fuel pump ate itself. There will always be used ones out there and I may pick up another once (BIG FAT IF) the recall ever comes to fruition.

I’m a little confused, did the fuel pump actually fail or did it throw a code that could sometimes be a precursor to a failure?

Threw codes, hard start and the dealer says it needs a pump.

There has been no announcement that the Gladiator will get the hybrid 2.0L drivetrain. Jeep has stated there will be a '4xe' version of the Gladiator soon but that does not mean the same thing. Jeep corporate uses 4xe generically for plug-in technology from what I understand. But either way they have been very quiet about it lately-

Not sure where you are at- but I have called every Jeep dealer in WA, ID, & OR that was showing a diesel rubicon in stock- all stated they are not aloud to sell them until the recall has been completed? Couple mentioned they are hearing august/September for repair??
Couple that had used diesel’s on the lot- they can sell?? But not the new, and cannot place an order on one- full stop.

Sharing This so you can make your own decision on a way forward…. Might be on hold for your order for a good while? Or could end up canceled….

Well , I am tempted to wait and see what happens . Legally No dealership can sell any product with a RECALL on them...Hence the National Sales Stop.. A LARGE fine if they get caught.....Supposedly they are supposed to have a fix for them and a repair for those effected with the Recall, it also affects ALL eco-diesel's including the RAM 1500..It's a Crap Shoot...Who knows maybe worth more in Long run if they are not going to make them anymore..

and put.in that pinned fuel pump I've seen on another thread.
What is this? Link?
I'd rather modify my own fuel pump than have a dealership dismantle my Gladiator.
