differences between '21-'23 diesel models and how rare is this one?

I just sold a 18 reg cab 4x4 with 60k we had it on the lot for less then a day.

Yes, they are harder to find. I'm also picky because I want a rust-free truck from California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, etc. I almost bought a regular cab Big Horn last year (pictured below) from Oregon. It was super clean (no rust), but the dealer had just changed ownership. Under the previous ownership, I was able to have the truck shipped to me. We had all the paperwork nearly completed. But when it came down to the fine details, we found out that the new ownership would only allow us to sign in person. At that time, there was no way I could fly to Oregon, make my way to the dealership, sign paperwork, and spend two days driving it back home. So, that deal fell through simply because they wouldn't let me purchase it unless I was in-person.

I have a dealership in Cheyenne, Wy and Ft Collins, Co our local Jeep stores have been getting them in fairly fast when we get one that needs one

I contacted two dealerships in New Mexico, and both said the same thing. They only get two per month, and they can't order another one until they've used one of the two that's in inventory. At one point, both dealerships had a list of over 100 customers waiting.

That's crazy they wouldn't let you docs u sign or something your paperwork we sell atleast 25% to out of state buyers for the same reason they want rust free vehicles. We don't rust in Cheyenne but since Colorado switched to salt on there roads a few years back were starting to see more cars in the local market coming from Co with rust issue's

I See your from New Mexico. To get our Deisel Grand Cherokee we had to fly down to Santa Fe, NM to get the one we wanted. It was a pleasant drive home to Utah.

That's a nice-looking Jeep! That's funny you had to fly from Utah to New Mexico. We ordered our 2020 Ram EcoDiesel from Classic Motors in Richfield, Utah and had them ship the truck to New Mexico.

I bet that was a nice drive from Santa Fe to Utah. Did you go through Chama on your way home? Them up through Cortez and into Moab?

I would steer clear of Jeeps diesel- too many issues have been reported to make me feel confident of that power plant. Im sure I’ll get flamed for this, but there’s a reason it was discontinued after a short run. I’m a huge fan of diesel engines but not this one

If this is based off what you see on these forums it’s not a good representation of the total amount of diesel jeeps on the road. Naturally, people come to forums for help when they have issues, so it inherently seems like everyone’s having issues.

Prescott is only 280 miles from where we live, so we just drove there and picked it up. I asked the Arizona dealer why they required signing in-person. They said there's been too many vehicles purchased by terrorists and terrorists' groups, then the vehicles are shipped overseas. According to the FBI, those dealerships are accepting dirty money, or helping support terrorists by providing them with vehicles, etc. He said they've had to deal with the FBI, so they stopped allowing non-in-person sales.

Found a 2021 eco diesel in sting grey. 26K miles Has literally every option available. portable radio, leather, LED, heated seats and steering wheel, front facing cam, bedliner, tonneau cover Jeep safety group adaptive cruise and its a Rubicon to boot. SLush mats, trail rail system with 400 watt inverter plug. Under rear seat storage Alpine stereo, Navigation.. Hard top steel front bumper etc.. I have never seen one that had ALL the option groups.. its also my favorite color next to Gobi. Is it unusual to see one this loaded? MSRP in 2021 was 65K

I have the 2023 with all the same options except adaptive cruise control.

It's frustrating as a consumer because we can literally buy things online all day long and have them shipped to our homes, but when it comes to buying a vehicle, I was denied twice!

I had no issues with the dealer in Utah, though. They had it delivered to my front door for $500 bucks. It's not that I'm lazy and don't want to drive/fly to get a vehicle. There are times of the year when I'm free and there are times of the year when I'm booked for weeks or months at a time.

But yes, it's a crazy world that we live in.

The reason the EcoDiesel was discontinued was because of the HPFP recall. For one, they had to stop selling the EcoDiesel until the new part came into production. Production of the new part was a slow and painful process. There simply wasn't enough HPFPs to supply both the recall and new production. As a matter of fact, I've been on the list for over two years and I'm still waiting on the part to come in.

My '22 Rubi has been issue free. Have 57,000 miles on it. It's been over the mountain passes in Colorado in 100+ heat. Did trails in Moab, and Rausch Creek. Been across country 5 times. Question is, would I buy another one. In a heart beat.

Everyone says that the reason why FCA dropped the Eco is because of the CP4 pump. They still use the engine in Europe. The coming 2027 diesel emissions regs are murder. Cummins redid the their Ram engine to meet the regs. FCA didn't think it would be worth it for the Eco, given the sales volume.

I purchased a 2021 diesel in 2021, besides the recall for the fuel pump. I have just done regular maintenance. NO ISSUES ever. Maybe I am the lucky one but best car I have ever owned and 25-30 MPG on the highway and I have 35k on it now.

The 3rd gen EcoDiesel in the Ram doesn't have overheating issues. The 3rd gen EcoDiesel in the Jeep does have cooling limitations. But to answer your question, I have not experienced overheating issues with the Gladiator because I don't do any heavy towing with it.

The Gladiator is mostly used to get us to and from our mountain property in inclement weather. I will do some towing with it, but it's going to be mostly low speed operation and/or lighter weight loads. To give you an idea, the Gladiator replaced our 2000 Jeep Cherokee.
