Not better really for our uses.I am old school. I use Torco 85-140 non synthetic rated GL-6. Better than GL 5.
GL-5 is for axles operating under various combinations of high-speed/shock load and low-speed/high-torque conditions
GL-6 is for high pinion offsets, more for scoring protection.
Gee, GL-5 is just fine for Jeeps - low speed, high torque, shock load. We don't have high pinion offsets so 6 isn't really going to be any better.
You can use it, but it won't be any better in our axles.
