Does anyone else hate carplay? I have passengers that are constantly plugging multiple phones into the truck to charge them. The radio is always flip flopping between the phones and competing with my radio use. Is there a way to kill CARplay? Tazer?

I use Android Auto all the time, so for me I have:

A black cord. That's MY cord. Do not touch.

A grey cord. That's for passengers. It comes from the 12V outlet.

I made a whole scene over it one day when the girlfriend plugged her phone into the truck and it did the whole connect a new phone shit. Now she knows

There are male to female adapters that essentially block the data component. Search Amazon/online for “USB data blocker.”

isn't there a checkbox to shut off screen projection in the phone menu of the infotainment?

It wouldn't be such an irritation if it didn't automatically switch to the newest device. WTF, I was here first kid!

I've gone through before looking and didn't see it. But, I'm going to look again more carefully.

That sounds familiar.
Found a post in the Pacifica forums that says "to use CarPlay you have to enable...... in uconnect settings......"

There is. You can also set priority to your phone.
I know the priority is for BT and thought that's all it was for - not CP or AA

I never saw hers pop up on the screen as long as mine was connected for AA.
If we both get in with our phones, my JT connects to my phone via BT and ignores hers.
Her JLU is the opposite.
If she drives my truck and I'm not there with my phone, it connects to hers via BT.

I figured it one phone was using AA that it wouldn't even consider another.

This should be 'fixed' on the 5C UConnect (2024 12.4in screen) running the latest update. It will not pair or attempt to pair with another wireless device once a device has been paired (currently connected) and designated as Primary. You should be able to have a few devices listed after the Primary that will connect if the Primary isn't available.
This will allow another phone to connect automatically if they're driving alone as long as the Primary isn't available.
The Primary can also turn off Bluetooth to allow another phone to connect.

I can confirm this feature as well. My wife can charges her phone without connecting to the uconnect.

We have a 2020 Gladiator and it DEF does not switch to my wifes iPhone. In fact it's the opposite. I have to make sure I plug my Android in first bc if she plugs in first it's her CarPlay trash.

We have a 2023/4 loaner (idk what year) 4xe Wrangler and when a new phone is plugged in it asks if we want to switch to it.

IDK what's going on with you but I don't see this auto switch to a new device in either vehicle.
