Disable honking when stepping out while engine is running

I have a '21 and turned off honking w/ locking on day 1. Never honked while getting out of the truck while running w/ the fob leaving.

In Settings under Doors&Locks > Sound Horn With Remote Start. Neighbors will thank you

I'm just curious, why an owner would ever turn this on, just to hunt for it, in order to turn it back off? It is so not tactical at all. Button mashers! all of you! Ha ha, good luck.

Mine was in the setup screen, clearly outlined in the crispy new manual, supplied with the JT, and in my "Online/downloaded" PDF manual, for quick reference. Just saying.

I don't think anyone turned it on. The default seems to be on for some folks, referring to the honking when exiting "feature". It's either the default for some, or there's some condition not being met. Honk horn while exiting isn't an available option.

Mine doesn’t do it either, but I have horn honk set to second press and have keyless access.

I use that feature sometimes when my dog or kiddo are in the back seat and I leave it running and lock the doors through the door handle.

I looked it up, and I guess some dealers actually turn it on, to help their customers, but JT's were originally shipped with that feature disabled, thank the lord, cuz that is annoying.

There is one auto feature that is still bug'n me while we're all here talkin bout annoying JT features tho; I want all the doors to unlock when I shift to Park. I cannot find that at all, and am wondering if its a Tazer thing.

Mine doesn't do it either, and I don't have proximity doors. But, IIRC, I turned off the horn/sound when locking feature.

Mine doesn't honk when I get out of the truck with the fob.
Mine is set to honk when I lock the Jeep - it honks and flashes the lights.
I have passive entry - I have no idea why in the world that would matter.
I added it myself - it did not honk before or after adding passive entry.

Mine honks only with locking and only with remote start -
.......I left it that way so I could tell when it was actually starting if it wasn't visible to me - I could tell by the honk that it got my start command. No big deal, why not since it's normally at home when I do a remote start.......

Mine honks while locking because I want it to - I don't have to look to know it got my command.
But it does not honk when exiting the vehicle with fob, never has no matter how anything else is set.

Mine too. ‘21 with proximity locks and lock beep disabled on day one. I’ve never had it beep when exiting with key. It does beep in the interior, which annoys the people still in the vehicle. I’d love that to go away. I end up leaving the key with them.

Yup, I just double checked that I have my "Sound Horn with Lock" set to OFF, and no horn beep upon fob exit with engine running.

21 Sport S Ecodiesel never honked getting out and engine running. It honks when I lock it. When I remote start it. Horn broken....watch for finger!

No honks here. And I love that it allows me to lock the truck with it still running as well, perfect for quick stops.

One more variable to check, because the build dates are not consistent either: parking brake or no?

Plot thickens...
Stopped on the way home, switched to Park, pulled parking brake, walked out - not a single honk. Yay, found the cause!
Drove to a store, parked, pulled parking brake, walked out - didn't even make 2nd step - "honk, honk"
