My Gladiator is one of the nightmare trucks that we all read about and pray it doesn’t happen to you, everything that has been posted as a problem with them has happened to my truck. (But i still love it like a shitty girlfriend that keeps cheating on you) Already having the DPF replaced and still continuing to have the CEL illluminated that there is a problem with it has made me decide to just delete it to forgo the $5000 + cost to repair it in the future, now that my warranty has expired.

I feel that there has been sufficient time for companies to tune the 3.0 but the market has quite a few different companies offering the service. I’m looking for a bit of advice. Who has deleted their truck, with which tuner, and to what success?

I’m not anti environment, by any means, but I am pro my wallet. I’m not looking to argue the benefits of DEF or the DPF and if you are please keep scrolling and allow this thread to be a meaningful one that doesn’t devolve into a political debate

While I totally sympathize with your plight, if anyone is still providing delete kits and tuners for deleting, their days are numbered and they can expect big fines coming their way soon.

Removing all the emissions parts and replacing with a normal exhaust system is something anyone with enough determination could do without a pre-fab kit but getting a tuner that lets your diesel JT run emissions free is likely to be tougher. If you find a pre-owned tuner, you are unlikely to get any support whatsoever from the company that made it and it might not even work without doing something only they can do so it can be used with your ECM vs the one it was originally tied to.

Until the EPA cracks down on businesses in Canada. It's not going to happen. And that's never going to happen. Then you have Mexico.

I stand corrected. I was thinking US only. As long as they continue to sell to US customers, that will be great.

ECO DIESELS OF CANADA by far the best for ecodiesel that I've seen

Yeah EOC. Essentially:

1. Procure and clone a PCM, Jeep will do this for you: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/ecu-pcm-clone-process-pricing.67939/

2. Contact Chris @ EOC. Go stage 2, T&S will fab up some magic: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/our-willys-build.48138/post-1116500

3. Meanwhile, send Chris your cloned (or original, no matter) PCM then sit back and wait.

Install the hard parts, bag and tag sensors. Drain DEF. Put 2 or 3G of distilled water in your DEF tank so later you can easily go back to stock if need be. Perform the tranny tune once he sends you the dongle. Full send it.

FYI your ecu doesnt need to be cloned you can send in a blank one or previously flashes/used one.

EOC is a vendor for mrtuning mrtuning is the one doing all of the tuning on the ecu's. If you need anything "custom" outside of the normal box tune it can be.....difficult to get done. Also HP tuners has tuning softrware but no clearly spelled out methods to flashing.

On a 20hp EOC or level 1 tune (they are swithc on the fly) you will have little to no smoke or soot at wide open. On level 4 or the race tune it will haze out a highway. Not deep black soot but it does make some smoke.

Its amazing what can be done once these engines are un-neutered. They probably made amazing boat engines at 300+HP and 550ft lbs of torque with unlimited cooling (ocean or lake water) and no emissions :)

@staying_tuned is there an estimated total cost for the whole delete / swap over?
I’m so sick of putting def in this thing and knowing it’s not operating at it’s full potential. And I hate the fake diesel exhaust smell, but the minutia of the process seems daunting to me, as this is my first diesel I’ve ever owned and I’ve never had a aftermarket tuned vehicle.

Around 1,900 including the second PCM (not mandatory but convenient) full exhaust with the resonator (optional) tranny and PCM flash along with the dongle.

The exhaust, in my opinion, is worth that alone. Very high quality and fantastic welds.

@staying_tuned wow that’s not bad at all, and about half what I was imagining. Thanks for the info! I’m still in my warranty but I’m gonna plan to have things ready for the DAY it ends!
I'm planning like wise. Once warranty is up. Delete time.
