Somehow they were able to machine the gen2 without those holes? Plus, they would have just put in press in plugs and not machined that size hole and used a plug with an O-ring in a size commonly used for oil line bungs.

Let's say your right, who cares? One side is the pressure side that feeds the stock oil cooler and the other side is a return.

I don't think you'll gain much by bypassing the stock cooler. Under normal load with my cooler my oil temps are are within a few degrees of coolant temps. Oil temps are usually 10 plus degrees over coolant in almost every vehicle out there. Only under heavy load do my oil temps climb higher than coolant.

I think my next step is going to be a methanol injection system. I don't run a spare underneath so I have lots of room for a tank.

I want to see what bulletproof comes up with but I have to think that the "engineers" put everything they had into the current radiator since they were banking on that being the only solution they went with.

I am the machinist (plus a lot more)for a turbo manufacturer. We also sell complete kits for vehicles which requires increased cooling capacity. I am no "expert" but I am familiar with how this all works ?
One of the thoughts running through my head about the 2 plugs. They use this engine in Europe in different types of trucks. The plugs could be very well for an oil cooler or something else that needs oil fed.

SO when* is your company going to make us some bad a$$ turbos for our 3.0 ......j/k I am pretty happy with how it works now.

DO you have access to turbo data on our turbos?

Biggest thing I would like to know is how it's cooled, is it's just oil or coolant and oil, and if it's possible to pull the hot oil or coolant from the turbo and dump that into a cooler before it gets back into the motor and adds all those btu's back.

We have had requests for a turbo and we discussed it. The motor can already make more power and heat than the system can deal with. It's not high on our list of new products.

We just need the restrictions on deleting to get removed. A deleted, correctly tuned diesel runs way more efficient than this crap anyway.

M18 maybe?
Thanks, I tried coming out of the water side of the oil cooler into an auxiliary cooler and only saw about a 3* difference while towing. I used one of Derale’s larger coolers.
I’m now skeptical that Bulletproof’s larger radiator is going to make a difference.

I don't remember. I was metric oil fitting. I just called my fitting guy and he figured it out. This is the info I gave him.

What is the attachment on the fitting you used?
AN, SAE, JIC?

You mean by cooling the "coolant" flow through the heat exchanger?

Did you keep the the radiator water still circulating or bypassed it?

If upgrading the coolant heat exchanger had no benefits then the factory heat exchanger is likely undersized for the application?

I might copy this setup but am waiting to do the radiator first. Im hoping they do radiator and thermostat combo that helps.

Still waiting on the oil filter housing. My order is still "processing". Once I get it I'll have all the info. I am prepping my wife's Wrangler for it. Going to make a custom axle back muffler delete and mount the cooler where the muffler was. I wish it would ship already.

I went from the block into my aux cooler and then into the factory oil cooler.
