Sad to report my HPFP went out on me last week after 59k miles. I’ve been on the waiting list for several months with the dealer but not very many have been coming in. Even with a failed pump the parts still have no ETA. I put in a claim with Jeep Cares to figure out something to drive in the meantime and maybe escalate the order but we’ll see if anything changes with the parts.

I’m glad the failure happened close to home cuz we’re about to take a road trip out to Wyoming from California. That would’ve been an expensive tow bill

That's garbage. Sorry it happened but maybe find another dealer? How can I walk in and get mine done same day, but you're on a list for months? Doesn't pass the sniff test.

I'm a bit confused about people waiting as well. I'm in Canada where we usually get the leftover parts lol, I asked to get the recall done in early March and they had me in within 3 weeks and home the same day.

Wonder if the dealership just didn't want to do it.

I haven't used any additives and that's probably on me. I kind of figured that I'd been driving so long before the recall that using additives at this point wouldn't have done much but who knows.

It's been a couple weeks and I have a loaner for now. The service desk calls every other day with updates (no parts yet) so I assume they're doing their part. It is strange that certain areas get parts within days and others don't. I'll give it some more time but if nothing progresses I'll probably look into a different dealer.

I sometimes wonder if it has something to do with the number of Eco's the dealer has sold vs on how fast they get the parts. The more Eco's sold, the more parts they get faster.

I think it has to do with how MOPAR part distribution is setup by regions. I cannot find the reference to link, but I recall reading awhile back that when there is either major part assembly shortages and or part replacement campaigns due to recalls or TSB, MOPAR spreads out and sprinkles X amount of part allotment per parts distribution region and is not a nationwide first come, first serve process.

Basically if a certain region has less representation of a certain model, there is more and quicker availability of parts.

Lastly, I do not discount basic dealer incompetence of actually getting people on a list and ordering on time and just giving lip service. I think some dealerships like to sand bag the process since dealer warranty/recall pay rate sucks.

I took mine in on Thursday so the dealership could get everything setup and order the parts for mine and they told me it would be 3-4 weeks to get the parts in and they called yesterday and told me the parts were in so it only took them 5 days total to get the parts.

I just got mine back. It looks like the pump, gasket, and fuel line were replaced. They did not flash the ECM.
How long did it take to get parts and remind me what dealer did it?

I called Jim Marsh last week since they ordered the part in October and said still not ETA as it’s on back order. Yet… some people get them into parts dept in under a week. I emailed Jeep Cares today to see if they’ll even respond.

I went in way early of when we could get on the list. I went through Jeep Only. I think Jim Marsh is way down the dealer list. They told me they are only getting 1 or 2 in per month.

Jeep Only won't even call me back, they never have appointments for service.. and they are less than 4 miles from my house... I'd probably use them for parts if they weren't so inaccessible.

My buddy took his truck into Chapman on Boulder and Sahara for a coolant leak and they happened to have a pump they put in. I called them too, they said it was on backorder and they'd let me know.

I understand how the dealer networks came to be, but in today's day and age it is wild to me that we have to rely on not the manufacturers but their independent dealer networks who may or may not know what on earth they are doing.

They are all horrible about calling back. If you try Jeep Only again ask for Kyle or Jen. Kyle was my service advisor.

Maybe they sent you my parts :)

I got a message from Jeep cares stating their expediting my parts shipment but I’m thinking it’s a regional issue since some areas seem to get them with no problem.

if anything it’s been saving me money by not shopping for other parts while it’s in the shop

I’ve developed somewhat of a squeal in the drive belt areas, missed my appointment at Jim Marsh due to oversleeping and it being at the ends of the earth vs where I am. They were another week or two out, so I checked JeepOnly, a 5 minute drive and they got me in today… long story short they had parts to do my recall. Hopefully all is well in the world and I get the truck back with no issues.

Talking to the advisor I ended up with, sounds like they got essentially a new staff up front with a new service manager within the last 3 months, which explains why they now have appointments readily vs not even 7 months out like they were last year.
