I've had a few EcoDiesel owners ask that we start a designated thread to document oil analysis results. Feel free to post other fluid reports such as coolant, gear lube, and transmission fluid reports as well.

@Rusty PW has sent me a few of his reports, so I put them into the following format. Iron, aluminum, and viscosity are the areas that I like to watch.

Do you prefer that we send you our reports so you can put them in this format, or just post our reports here?

Feel free to post whatever you have. @Rusty PW had issues posting his report, so he sent them to me. Then I put them into a format that made sense to me.

Could you please provide the company that does the analysis? I've been thinking about doing this on my 2 ecodiesel's, 2.0 VW, and 5.9 cummins.

Thank you
Steve

I started using Oil Analyzers because they seem to be more accurate than Blackstone.
Blackstone seems a little more novice user friendly though, with the comments and sheet layout. They were also fairly inexpensive, but I just got an email the other day that they were going up to $40.
Oil Analyzers offer different ways to send in your oil, (pre-paid, or you provide shipping costs) Pre-paid gets sent to their Indiana lab. For me, the lab in Houston is closer and is cheaper to mail to.
Oil Analyzers requires you to pre-pay for however many kits you want.
Blackstone sends you kits for free, and you pay when you send one in.
Another consideration would be SpeedDiagnostix, owned by Lake Speed Jr., who, if you've seen any of his YouTube videos, you'll know he's an oil analysis guru. Their costs are on the higher side: $59.95 for a kit. I do like that you can buy a dipstick pump from them if you want to take a sample between oil changes.

@Bananaman, pretty much summed it up. I can also order kits and have them sent to anyone who doesn't want to set up an account with Oil Analyzers.

First report on the Stray, Jeep wave change at 7,500 miles was not sampled so this is the second oil change. I messed up on the submission slip and put total miles instead of miles on the oil.

Received my first oil analysis today. I’m a little confused on the comment section though. Missing fluid product name? I wrote on the card the manufacturer Amsoil MS and weight of 5w40. What am I missing?

the results look pretty good although I don’t have much to compare it to.

Amsoil makes 6 different 5w40 oils…
https://www.amsoil.com/search/#q=5w40&t=totalProductsTab&sort=relevancy&numberOfResults=20
So, which amsoil did you use?

which ever you choose it doesn’t look bad, but looks like pennzoil is doing better (based on the posts above)
