I relocated the 12v plug without cutting it to the backside of the passanger side dash panel. You can access it by removing the glove box. I use it now for a dash cam. The Redarc is in place of the cigarette lighter.

Do you have any pictures or info on what you had to do to the dash to fit that Redarc bezel? I saw someone mentioned they had to cut or notch slightly, just wanted to know what I was in for when installing this. Thanks!

I don't have any pictures while I did it. There is a thread in the trailer & towing section from last August or so were a guy did show some pictures. I followed what he posted but found on Youtube a video of a guy dismantling a JL dash to replace the radio. The above one from etrailer is good for the control box mounting. The absolute hardest part was removing the cigarette lighter. There is a special tool the dealer has to release it. I whittled on mine with a knife till it came apart.

I don't know how the 12v outlet (formerly known as cigarette lighter) turned out but what I see here is great. Well done.

Yeah I saw his posts and he pretty much showed everything in detail except notching the dash, which is the one part I want to know about. I have the parts en route, Hopefully it won't be too bad to figure out where and how to cut. What exactly is involved in getting that lighter socket out? I'd like to not destroy it in case I ever need/want to go back, but I'm not open to that if it's what it takes.

That notch your talking about was easy. If your planing on using the plastic button housing like in my picture all you do is cut a notch with a hacksaw blade at 12 o'clock in the hole to allow the light of the control button to illuminate the numbering ring. Don't sweat it, it will be the lest of your troubles.

That notch is maybe the width of the blade by 1/16-1/8" deep.

You can see the light hole above the hole, the hole you have to notch will be the dash board cigarette lighter hole.

Looks good, now that I see it in your dash with the red switch below it, you could inlay the lettering "Trailer Brake" with red paint. I was going to do mine in white with white-out. It would have been easy to do before installing.
Here is what I'm talking about:
I think I'll try the crayon first.
Better yet Sharpie makes a red china marker (wax) and you can remove mistakes with WD-40
