If this is accurate, I'm guessing they may develop a secondary harness with the diode that attaches between the end of the normal controller cable and controller for the "fix" for the early 2019/2020 models. Then they can leave the current cable as is for all the newer models.

This appears to be Redarcs answer to the feedback issue

That's something like Curt offers for $99 that plugs into the back connector and makes it California compliant.
This specifically states prevents feedback while operating the trailer brake lights.
So it's sort of what's needed, but goes further.
I spoke with the Redarc support about the issue of no trailer brakes and he alluded to changing some things with their recommended wiring for the Jeeps.

This is what MOPAR needs to supply WITH their controller.
They knew the issue, Redarc and Curt and others knew of the issue, but still, Mopar f'd up and released an untested item, or they released it KNOWING it was not right - either way really bugs me.

Now this is a good theory. 2 of the ones I’ve seen working were 2021’s and my 2020 is a July 2019 build, so this is very possible.

The only way to know that would be put up a poll - be SPECIFIC, tell people post the build date, can they push that button or not and do they have ACC or not.
Mine is a November 2019 build with ACC and it lights up like a disco club.
