Sounds like somebody is suffering from a serious napoleon complex. You seriously have no idea who I am and what I can or cannot do. I appreciate you trying to defend your ego, however your arguments are weak and have no substance. You choose to attack me on a personal level, but you know nothing about me. I, however am just pointing out that, if you lie, and someone calls you out, you should be able to own the lie. You my friend, are not that person.
G-D bless you and I hope you someday find joy in life.

see you at the mall!

Seriously? This is just a Jeep forum you idiot. You don’t know who I am either ... mr mysterious... it’s all about you isn’t it? Go look in the mirror for ego.

All I am saying is we own Jeeps and each can do whatever they would like. You seem a little bit frustrated. Maybe get off of the internet for a while and get out in nature. Quit being a know-it-all (and you don’t) pain in the Gluteus Maximus ... ?.... uh-oh... I said Maximus... YIU know what that makes me think of?

My beautiful MAX TOW!! ?

Get a life dude, this is just the internet.

I think maybe we are straying from the point. This was originally started based on the observation that someone stuck a rubicon sticker on a Jeep that was , in fact not a rubicon. What can be modded out of a particular trim model is not the topic. Nobody is claiming it’s not a solid platform. Just saying, if you don’t have a rubicon and it’s obvious, and you put a rubicon sticker on it, your only fooling yourself. When someone says, “ hey dude, that ain’t no Rubicon” you should be able to say, “ yeah, I wish” and be honest not, f$&@ you for pointing it out. Seriously I can’t believe people would ever defend someone who’s being disingenuous.
Uh, I was responding to a very specific post - not the general original few posts........ Just responding to posts, I understand what the ORIGINAL intent was - but as usual, after a dozen and a half pages, the topic drifts........... I know exactly what the ORIGINAL topic was.

So was the Internet
Oh, when this happened?

GORE: Well, I will be — I’ll be offering my vision when my campaign begins, and it’ll be comprehensive and sweeping, and I hope that it’ll be compelling enough to draw people toward it. I feel that it will be.
But it will emerge from my dialogue with the American people. I’ve traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.

Open the hood and find out.............
If I did an engine transplant, I'd "advertise" it.

REALLY? Seems to me it does just fine.
I bought it as a truck - honest. I bought it because I can haul lumber, plywood, and TOW, yes, TOW.
I didn't need a full-size truck that you can't park in tight places or that's impossible to maneuver around town and crowded spots.

I bought my JT for two reasons -
towing my cars
and
hauling building supplies.
It's a truck to me.

And I'm not the only one who tows with one -

I definitely bought my gladiator to tow, I have a small business and have to tow a 7x12 tandem axle tool trailer from job to job. Had a Ram 2500 and was looking for something more fuel efficient and landed on a Mojave because I didn’t get my fillings knocked out on rough roads driving it. Air bags and it’s a dream. Picked up Max Tow springs too, just in case, (I’m definitely going towards overland) with it.

I wish we had a setup like the old Land Rovers, two levers for the transfer case that were independent of each other; one to select open or locked differential in the transfer case (AWD or 4WD), and the other lever to select hi/lo range.
How about three levers. open/locked Hi/Lo 2wd/4wd :) Seriously its seems odd they did not offer the classic selectrac type of xfer case as standard equipment.

You know that it is an option on the Sport S and every trim above in 2021.
I think only 2020's didnt have it and you cant get it in the base Sport or Willys Sport.

Ah my Mojave is 2020 but the new selectrac is computer controlled beast whereas the old NVG242 is all mechanical. Ive used the NVG242 in plenty of bad conditions including greasy city streets and its sweet.
I guess the computerized version saves some fuel at the expense of additional complexity.

Their ride, their choice.

I know of Rubicon owners that have completely debadged.
I’m one of those. I can’t stand seeing “RUBICON” in massive lettering on the hood. If you can’t tell what the model is by looking at it, you don’t need to know what it is. Also, I’m not a fan of the red accents that come along with the Rubicons. Jeep should have left those with the JK/JKU Rubicon Recon editions IMO. I went tan interior with gator exterior on my JTR just to avoid the red inside.

I have always thought buying something and pretending it is something else is pathetic. I know a guy who buys fake sunglasses and nikes and thinks he is literally the shit. I just think its sad. Its sad to want to be looked at period but for fake stuff, its even sadder.

I will probably piss a few off that do this but they really need to do a gut check when slapping on stickers that are a up-level from their current trim. The fact that 99% of those that do it are slapping up-level trim stickers and not down-level trim ones tells you it is a mental feint exercise. I really do not care what people do with their Gladiators but in the peer group level, they are not fooling anyone. They can justify it by saying they do not care what other people think but the shear act of doing it in the first place shows they do care what people think but they just want the positive vibes.

Reminds of the 2000's when the whole chopper and biker build craze was going on. Many people had built up motorcycles frame up aftermarket and then slapped "Harley-Davidson" badging on them. In most circles, it got you laughed out of. In rougher circles, at a minimum it got your build knocked over and/or your ass kicked.

social mediocre is partially to blame. People post to get likes. Some, if not many, will post what people want to hear or see just to achieve a positive feedback. fakebook is all about likes, even this forum people often judge you based on the "reaction score". I was bashed multiple times because my "score" wasn't as high as or higher than my post count. I frankly don't give a shit.

Even in this forum to some extent the Rubicon people are often looking at other trims as "not worthy". I mean look at the "what should I get" or "help me decide" posts - it's all about Rubicon or Mojave. Anything else isn't even Jeep - open your mind and check those responses - be HONEST about it. It's definitely a club mentality out there.

First thing you gotta do is bigger tires - why? Because you are going on the tough trails? No, because the Jeep people SAY SO. You are a soccer mom or mall crawler or not a real Jeep person if you don't take off those stock tires on day one and go up 3 increments. The bigger the tire - apparently the bigger something else or the tougher the guy is!
You definitely don't want to meet up with a guy who has 37" tires on his Jeep - he's gonna be able to break your back just by looking at you.
That's going to piss some folks off - but that's just how things look out there.
What's the first mod I should do? BIGGER TIRES AND A LIFT! Why? Well, just because. Even if you live in Belmond Iowa where the ground is so flat field tile doesn't even drain and you can see for miles.

Just reporting what I observe over time. Psychologist says I'm excellent at pattern recognition and puzzle solving - and I see a pattern for sure.

Help me make a decision - which trim level should I get? Guarantee the answer is most likely Rubicon or Mojave.
What should my first mods be? Bigger tires! A lift! Why? There' s no trails in this whole state! Not even close - so why?
