LOL - maybe compared to a street summer tire. ATs will all make a little noise, I ran them for bit on a different rig and found them quitter than the KO2's that were on it before then.

It's just the nature of the beast.

FWIW, I can't hear anything over the diesel and the wind in my hair.

As stated above the size of the gap between lugs and the size of the lug drives the slapping noise. New tires typically have sipping on the first 1/8" or so of tread so and that further quiets the noise.

I just installed some lightly used cooper at3 4s load c and they are better but not as good as stock HT tires for noise or ride comfort.

I really wish there were 33x10.5x17 in a highway HT tire that was load c. They all seem to be d or e

Buying a solid axle Jeep for on-pavement quiet, comfort and civility is kind of doing it wrong, in my view.

I agree. But we all have our threshold, especially if we are coming from a car. I found the Willys to be unbearable.

If you want quite then stick with the all seasons. All tread patterns will make differing levels of road noise, especially as they wear. Most tires will become louder as they age. Most who spend ample time off road accept the increased on road sound of AT/MT tires for their increase in off road performance.

And if you’re looking for ride quality stick with the All seasons and avoid the AT/MT

BFG KO2s are one of the quietest made. My Kanati Trail Hogs are about equally as quiet as the KO2s. I previously had KO2s installed before deciding to try a set of the Kanati's.

Nittos, Toyos and Falkens are loud tires, I've ran all 3 on my JKU. None were as quiet as the KO2's or Kanati tires.

The Cooper Discoverer AT3 line is excellent. For whatever reason the Coopers seem to be overlooked in a world of Nittos, Toyos, and BFGs. I personally have the AT3 XLT, which is a heavy-duty tire with deeper treads and stiffer sidewalls. The tires are very quiet. If you want something closer to stock ride quality the AT3 4S line is the way to go. They're less aggressive but the tread pattern is the same.

Agree. I have them on my F250 and really like them. Can't hear them on the interstate.

Just replaced the AT3 4S with the XLTs. Had 30k on AT3 but due to some vandalism ended up just buying a new set of XLTs. The 4S nicely matched the Mojave for all around use. XLT might be better at damage control. Interesting I sold the stock MTs to a guy with a F150 who says they were smooth as glass! Guess the F150 has lots of sound deadening.

Recently got away from the Falcon wild peaks at 10k miles noise steadily increased winding sound would get really bad 45mph and up.

Now running Mickey Baja legend EXP 35,s.. quieter than the wild peaks .. I wasn't expecting that from a hybrid ..no complaints let's see what happens after 10k on them..

Update. The XLTs are definitely stiffer riding than the 4S. With only 20 miles that is all I can say at the moment. The 4S should be perfect for pavement dirt roads and snow. If your in rough ground with rocks and sticks the XLT may provide some more protection.

I've heard the BFG K02 and Toyo Open Country AT are pretty quiet. I've got the Falkens and haven't really noticed that they're particularly loud for AT tires though.

Same goes, mine aren't noticeably loud...
