My module arrived today, so I got it installed. I had already modified the 12V power plug for constant 12V, and I added something like this:

https://smile.amazon.com/Power-Adapter-2018-2020-Wrangler-Gladiator/dp/B0886DNNSP

today to facilitate wiring the 12V (it also gives me a very convenient 12V tap for the future.)

Anyway, all went well following this thread...

https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/jt-3wliners-window-control-module-install.40950/

...and once I remembered to plug in the 12V fuse (D'OH!) it all worked fine.

I discovered that not only can you control global window functions from the remote, and with the exterior front door handles (provided you've the Proximity Entry option or mod.,) the interior door lock buttons will also control the windows.
So, want all the windows down while sitting inside? Unlock, lock, unlock, and down they go!
Cruising around with the windows down & it starts to rain? Double tap the lock button, and up they go!

Can someone confirm that if I don't care about the remote windows up/down lock/unlock stuff (aka I only want the one touch feature) that the two wires to the kick panel are not needed? Just the module and the 12v?

Thanks.

Could have sworn that I saw this was available or adaptable to the JK models. Am I mistaken? Would love to do this mod on my 2011 Sahara Unlimited while I am waiting for the right deal to come along on a Gladiator.

I tried mine before connecting to the door lock wires, and it worked to control the windows from the console buttons.

I checked the vendor’s site and they don’t make one for the JK.

Yeah all I saw there were floor mats. I read it somewhere I swear. Maybe I just wish it were so so bad that I just imagined it. Am getting old after all!
If anyone one stumbles on it from another vendor please let me know.

You might try poking around on Amazon; I seem to remember there were some window control modules for the JK.

I ran mine to the RSE wiring and just tapped it from there.
So after watching the video where they ran the red wire along the passenger side across to the engine bay I was looking for a better option then I remembered you saying you tapped the RSE wiring and thought great I can do that too!

Strangely enough about 24 hours after I finished the install and everything appeared to be working correctly my step sliders stopped working. I used a yellow Posi-tap which fit the larger red wire connected to the RSE switch.

I checked the inline fuse next to the battery and sure enough the 20A fuse was blown. I know the window module came with a 25A fuse but with a much smaller gauge wire than the RSE uses.

So @calipoontappa, have you run into any issues with the step slider after tapping the power wire for the window module?

I haven’t run into any issues since day one. Were you rolling the windows up/down and engaging the step at the same time?

I tapped into one of the lines behind the switch that shuts off the steps.

It might be coincidence but my passenger slider is stuck down right now, so not sure if the motor is wigging out or something else.

I also tapped one of the lines behind the switch for the step after testing each for voltage, it was the bottom of the 3 lines on the switch (larger of the 2 red lines).

Good to know you haven't had any problems, I'll keep investigating. I feel like it would be a lot of current along the small gauge red wire from the window module to pop a 20A fuse.

Thanks for the response!

I *think* the issue with my step sliders was unrelated, however just to be sure I re-tapped the 12V wire a little further down and made sure it wasn't bending.

In the meantime while my passenger step was stuck down and the drivers side was working the 20A fuse blew once again. I only had a 25A fuse to replace it with but I checked with RSE to make sure it was ok.

A couple days later the replacement module for the RSE step sliders was delivered and after popping it in the step sliders were back to normal.

Not a single issue since then!

I absolutely love this window mod!! After that fuse blew those 2 times and the window mod no longer worked it made me realize how much I missed it already!
