So I've been saying just rip them out and put new ones in. I finally got time during this long weekend to do that, even though I didn't have any problems yet.

Super easy to do and looks a hell of a lot better. MC JL inner linners.

Just discovered this myself. Passenger side, Rubicon 33’s no mods. I just finished an 800 mile road trip the Sierras and back from Phoenix. Guessing it happened on the way or back (temps were 100+ and at 70-75 mph sustained, can only imagine the beating those paper thin liners can take). 7.5k miles on it now.

Guess I will call the dealership and schedule in. Also had a windshield replaced due to a rock chip...took a month to get the replacement due to availability. So now thinking about these fender liners...what kind of replacement time are people seeing? Wondering if I should contact the dealership about parts availability first.

Buy aftermarket and install them. will never have a problem. Much sturdier, looks better and they usually have better venting (like the MC ones I installed).

See my post two replies above.

900 miles on my LE. Going down the road at 75 mph and sucked a chunk out of the passenger side inner.

Have 33k on my 18 JL and never had an inner fender issue

I had my fender liners replaced by my dealer. Told him to replace with the 2018 JL liners. Got the call and had them replaced. Did not check before I left. I should have because this has happened again in only one week. Looks like I will try again. But if this happens again I will have Chrysler buy back on the Lemmon law. I will stop the lift and wheels and tires today. Wheels are on back order.

Chrysler please fix your issues. This will cost you more in the long run.

Hi @Jwhaugen,

We're sorry to hear that this has happened twice now! Please send our team a message so that we can have this documented and forwarded to the appropriate teams.

You are not going to get a Lemon Law buy back for torn fender liners. Most if not all state Lemon Laws have language that it has to be detrimental to either safety and/or substantial loss of value for the defect. Goggle Foo of ND lemon law shows no difference in this either.

I took my Gladiator to the dealer today because a plastic pop rivet that holds on the mud flaps had come out. The guy comes out and is looking at and comments about the thin plastic on the inner fender, I told him it was an issues that was popping up on the Jeep Forum.

I’m planning to remove these poster board thin inner fenders when I upgrade my tires and add something metal and nice. Until then, I went the tie wrap and push pen approach for now to buy me time before this rub destruction happens to me. Here are some pictures of what I did to tighten things up under there temporarily. I hope it helps as a preventative maintenance for now.

YUP!

@JeepCares took care of this, GOOD JOB folks! :like:

The dealer I went to do it is not only STUPID and INCOMPETENT, but also outright rude and hostile.
I was told I 'circumvented the process' by the writer because I involved FCA before letting them tell me it was my bigger tires and (MOPAR) lift.
BUT even they couldn't screw up the updated liners, been 5 weeks, 1300 miles and no more issue.

Took the JEEP in for it's first LOF/rotate today to the next closest dealer, and THAT's where I'll be going, what a difference!

I am lucky enough to get my service done at Motor Inn!
