I fill mine slowly. After it clicks off. I can add about about 3 gallons too. I've actually put 17.5 gallons in the tank.
I was less than 1/4, but the light wasn’t on yet. The pump stopped at $100 and I was too tired to Jack with putting the card back in to see how much I could actually get in it but I was definitely over the initial click…probably 1.5 gallons into the reserve.

I put just over 21 gallons in it one time. I knew I was on fumes :) with 0 miles to empty showing for 10 miles.

I've never had a problem with a nozzle, but I've found that I can add between 2 and 3.5 gallons after the first time the nozzle clicks off. I have to fill very slow. This usually adds another 75 miles of range.
Do our diesels have an evaporators canister like gas vehicles do? I was told adding fuel after it clicks off would cause the evap can to clog on a gas vehicle. If there’s no risk I’d love an extra 75 miles of range!

I don't know for sure but I read on a post on here that they do not have a evap can. And your fine doing the extra fill. That being said I would also like to know for damn sure

I’ve heard from multiple sources that diesels don’t have evap so you can fill away. I do on a regular basis.

On the day I got the Jeep we logged 12 hours on the drive home... When the girlfriend was driving she said "It says get fuel now" and I asked how many miles are left? I can't see the gauge from here.

20. 20 Miles left. Now I know that's a very pessimistic number, but we were in bfe Iowa. Drove 15 miles to the next station and they had a single diesel pump with the giant nozzle.

Thing was caked in grease, had to hold it up to the tiny stupid funnel while squeezing the sticky pos as slowly as I could and when it finally overcame it's earthy grasp and started to pour, some of it went in the funnel. The rest went down the side of the Jeep.

Just put 2 gallons in and drove to the next town where they had 8 diesel pumps.

I'm doing this mod asap.

I filled for the first time since I got the truck. My unconnected app said I had under 1/8th or 6%. I fill from a bulk tank at home. I have two meters on the tank. One said 20 gallon and the other said 21. For only supposed to having an 18 gallon tank I thought it must have been pretty damn near empty. 365 miles on the first tank which the dealer provided. I was hoping for better mileage right off the bat but maybe it will get a little better as I go. It is a Rubicon so maybe the 33's are some of the reason. At any rate I am glad I went ahead and did this mod

I had no idea there were diesel pumps that are different sizes. I know gas vs diesel are different size to prevent folks adding the wrong fuel. Are the pump nozzels that don't fit just an older style/size?

The diesel nozzles that are the wrong size are intended for much larger trucks, and as such are usually found where semi-trucks fill up. The nozzle and the hose attached to it are visibly huge, but the nozzle has always just barely fit in older diesel pickup filler necks and still works. The point of these pumps is to provide a very high flow rate to speed up filling huge tanks. If you only go to "typical" gas stations outside farm country you will likely never see one.

I was just reading this and thinking on my cross country trip, never ran into one. Good to know there's a way around it should it ever come down to it.

Ok I was aware of the commercial truck nozzles being a different size but hadn't thought those might be found outside of a truck stop. I suppose it makes sense if you're traveling in farm country where there may be more heavy equipment for farming operations
