From a guy that has spent the last 27 years in Tacoma’s, even before they were called Tacoma’s. My last one, the one I sold to get my Mojave. 2012 4 door 4x4 auto, 3 inch fox/OME lift, 285/70/17. Averaged about 16-16.5 on the same drive I’m getting with a stock height Mojave with 316/70/17. IMO Toyota is going the wrong way with both of there trucks, that’s why I went with the JT
Sold my 2003 4Runner that I had for 18 years for my Mojave. The 4Runner had a V8 with a 3 inch Teraflex lift and 33’s. It got 17 mpg all day long. Kinda crazy, my Mojave that’s brand new with a V6 gets worse gas mileage.

2021 Mojave - stock lift and stock 33's and 4.10 rear. 16-17 mpg in the city. 14-15 mpg on the freeway where its 75mpg on the freeway. Anything over 70 mph puts my rpm over 3000 and kills my gas mileage.

Wow! 3k @ 70mph?

6 speed?

Just curious for I’m running 4.56 with 315/70-17 and at 65mph it’s right around 2k/2,100k rpm w/auto

2021 Gladiator Willys 3:73 285/75/17 Nitto Ridge Grappler. 5800 miles. RC steel bumper with synthetic rope Smitty Bilt winch, 15.7 mpg overall. City and Highway combined. Spirited driving included. Today I checked by fill up then 120 miles of driving at 65-75 mph on cruise. Windy and raining. Averaged 17.8 probably would have been getting 19ish if it would stay in 8th. Head wind kept it in 7.

My 08 JK is a 4.10, 33s, 6 speed manual. I do 70 at 2500ish rpm. My wifes 2011 GC, 6 speed runs about 2k at 70. The Willys I test drove with 3.73 ran at 2100 at 70. It didn't seem like it would go to 8th. I am curious about the max tow option and if that makes it easier for the engine to stay in 8th?

8 sped auto. It just doesn’t want to stay in 8th gear. I’m thinking of shifting it to manual 8 while on the freeway to force it into 8th gear. Haven’t tested to see if this will work.

2021 Willys here, I tend to drive the speed limit +/-5 mph. Mixed driving, lots of elevation changes and 50 miles each way for work. Been pleasantly surprised with my mileage to this point.

My first drive.
Brand new 2021 Mojave; stock from the dealer (most options, AT tires, no bed tonneau)
400 mile drive from Gupton, TN to Morrilton, AR
drove primarily off the freeway to avoid constant RPM
average speed 61 mph; when I could I was pushing harder but not too hard (up to 75 mph)
fuel consumption 18.9 mpg
quite satisfied

My 6MT Rubicon with factory mud terrain tires is starting to settle in now, and fuel economy has definitely improved. I'm getting about 16 mpg around town, and 20 mpg on the interstate up and down the PA and MD hills/mountains, with plenty of downshifts and keeping up with traffic. I'm sure it'd be a little better on flat land, and/or with all terrain or highway tires, so I'm happy considering my setup. Of course, I'm swapping on some 35s just as soon as I can, so we'll see what happens. I'm not sure if the new tonneau helped me to see an improvement, or if it was coincidental with break-in, but it's certainly acceptable to me now.

2021 80th Anniversary stock. Trip meter says at 1130 miles it's getting 19.3MPG. It does have the stock 255/70r18 Bridgestone Dueler A/T's on it.

I manually shift mine on the highway. If you have JScan you can reset the transmission adaptation too.

I'm averaging 15.3 mpg Sport S Max Tow on 35s and 4.10s. Probably 60% city.
