Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but in theory you could stack the Derringer on top of the GDE tune (or any ECU tune).GDE tune rewrites completely.
Derringer takes the input, raises a Lil, then outputs.
1. Would these 2 be able to work together? Maybe with the Derringer not maxed out to keep power levels "safe"?
2. As for GDE tuner, couldn't they design the tune to still write with it if u already have the security bypass dongle, like for jscan?
Forgive me if either question was covered. 14 pages alot to read lol
Personally, I would prefer GDE over Banks, tho Banks gaining popularity here. When I trade in for diesel, will probably do Derringer to start since no footprint. Then after xx000 miles, may switch to GDE. But that's all fantasy land for now till I trade up.
However, my personal opinion is that I'd never use a Derringer on any diesel engine. The Bosch CP4 has a horrible reputation. They routinely blow up on the stock fuel pressure. Dialing that fuel pressure up an additional 4,000 PSI is just begging for a $10k fuel injection system repair.
