I would be down for that, but I would even be happy if they just made a longer bed option for the current 4 door. Even 5.5 ft would be fine for me.
Let's just go nuts. 8 foot beds for everyone!
Jeep Gladiator Gladiator 2 door. Please, please, please, take my money! long long j

(and before you ask, yes i measured and that is within an inch or 2 of an 8 foot bed, as I made it exactly 60% longer)

I would have brought one if they if they existed when I was in the market, but I'm happy with current my setup so I wouldn't trade now if Jeep came out with one.
You might be surprised how many would switch. I know an engineer for FCA and his response was “Never say Never”

No one would ever buy that. The departure angle is s**t. It'd get stuck on mall curbs!

Not even to mention if you sat on the tailgate, the front tires would lift off the ground!

They barely even sell 2 door Jeeps at this point...

But I would buy that in a heartbeat
I do wonder what the break-even point required by Jeep for model sales numbers.

Random rabbit-holing...

Looking at sales data, the JT is currently leveling out (likely due to recession and "supply chain issues"). I'd say eventually the JT will probably sit around 100k-125k units per year, roughly half of JLs. It doesn't look like JT sales drastically affected JL sales; likely less than 5% cannibalization. 2018 & 2019 were "let's get the new JL" sales, which got a big bump from those waiting in 2016-2017 for the new model.

Compared to the Tacoma, the JT obviously lags behind. I think Toyota benefitted from a lot of panic buying in 2021. If anything, the JT stole sales from Chevy. Colorado sales have tanked since the JT and Ranger have been introduced. Ranger gets a lot of benefit from "domestic" maker and fleet sales.

Bronco sales are just over 1/2 of JL sales per year... based on extrapolating existing data.

I think my whole point is this. “If and ever” they should decide to do a small number “limited” I’d be first in line. Heck, my parents didn’t care if there were only two seats. We rode in the bed with the dog. Ahhhhhh the good ole days.

2 door in 70s and early 80s was successful why people didn't have as many options and trucks and cars actually had room in side them then. (full size) Oddly enough Dodge and Ford?? made 4 door "crew cab" trucks but didn't sell well if I'm not mistaken except for special purpose like R/R companies.
