Just a week ago a friend who owns an autobody shop told me about those axles breaking just like yours. They're a week spot and he expects a recall coming on those in the future.

Just echoing sentiments here.
Glad you are ok. Sorry ya had this experience. Kudos to the K-9 unit for getting the a-hole.
Keep us posted on the repair saga.

Bummer, but glad you and passengers are OK.

FYI, the wife had an 08 JK Sahara(ordered new from factory). In 2013 a 70yr old in a Prius rear ended her while sitting at a stop light. Heavy fog and Prius was doing 60. When I looked at the Jeep all I saw was a RR flat and the RR bumper cap was smashed. Internally it was much worse. The Roll cage kept the Jeep from buckling.
Bright side is insurance gave us $1500 more than what I paid for it. Guess she drove it for free for 6 years.

Hope everything comes out in the end.

Hey @pilotpat do you have any better pictures of your dash mounts? The crash pictures were taken at nighttime and are kinda dark, hard to see. Got any pre-crash daytime pictures?

I have 2 RAM mounts. One is on drivers grab handle(holds my I-phone) and the other one is mounted to the passenger dash grab bar(holds my Garmin GPS). Love to see better pictures of your mounts if you have some.

Also curious to know; did you find out if the driver had insurance? Hope they did.

Hey @pilotpat
Just curious to know - does the airbag deploy out of the trim PC behind the passenger grab handle j(ust above the add on pocket in this picture) or out of the dash panel above?

Those mounts are on my truck. They are not from @pilotpat ‘s truck. I had asked him to show better, daytime photos showing what he had in his truck that survived the crash. Hope all clear now.

Airbag came out of the middle of the dash piece above the grab handle. On the LE the leather seams are what split as the airbag popped out.

I think the comment (how I took it) was to point out YOUR phone looks like it was from one of those Gladiators in the Great Train Wreck of 2019.

Gotcha. And you are right. That phone pictured is actually an old phone that I no longer use. I just put that old broken phone in the holder so I could take a picture showing what it looks like with a phone in it.

I think the comment (how I took it) was to point out YOUR phone looks like it was from one of those Gladiators in the Great Train Wreck of 2019.

Hey @pilotpat thanks for those pictures. Looks like a busy dash, capable of holding many things. Hope you can get your truck fixed soon.
