I have several Milwaukee tools, kind of cemented to a brand after you have invested in batteries. My favorite is my M18 blower (the big one).

What about this......?

CF4F786D-659C-4B2D-A6C9-D3741FBBBF92.webp
this is similar, but uses the ground as well for support and handles 650 lbs.

But i don't think this will work with my topper, to spin it, i'd have to have tailgate down, topper closed, then not hit the topper when i swing it around, set it on the tailgate, swivel it out of the way, open topper put deer inside.....

This might be a great option for somebody else though.

uh, oh....more options. Though i think i like the L E Vator best. This swivellift you have to get the platform out from under the load instead of just sliding the load onto the tailgate.

I didn't know there was a whole underground world full of lifting deer into truck beds.

I had a friend that was complaining about hunting in his Wrangler and having to load and bring back a deer. I suggested that he look in his local Craigslist ads for one of the trailer hitch platforms for an electric wheelchair. These go right into the trailer hitch, attach to the electrical power for the trailer hitch, and lower right to the ground. This way you can lower it, put the deer on at ground level, then raise it. Works for Wrangler, Gladiator, or anything with a trailer hitch.

I hunted for years with my JK. I know this crane is not meant for hauling but I have simply strapped smaller deer to the rear tire while suspended and taken them to my friends house with a walk-in cooler. Last year the buck was too big to transport this way so I winched it to the front and made it home strapped to the bumper. Not elegant but found an extra use for the Warn 8000...
That pic is gnarly so it will not be posted.

i got my viking L E Vator yesterday.....box was torn open, taped back together, parts were bent, getting another one, hopefully better luck. Though their product protection is terrible....
For $103 shipped its pretty cheap. If it seems chincy I might build my own based on their model for next season.

Any chance you can just park by a tree with a lower limb and put a pulley on that as your support arm? Then you can forego all this fab/design work

One of the slickest I have seen was some local bear hunters had a rig set up with a ramp with rollers on it (like a box conveyor) and a rope and pulley setup in the front of the bed. Dirt simple and worked really well dragging a bear into the truck

The trick is to get them in the bed before you shoot them...

These are both good options. i think the Viking L E Vator that I bought should work well. i'll snap some photos and do a quick write up tomorrow. (a 2nd one came and this one wasn't damaged. I modified it 2 tiny ways, but I think it'll be nice.
I think this will be less heavy than the roller ramp and easier/deployable in the field than dragging the deer to a tree that I can park under.

Sheesh, four pages and nobody on here is redneck enough to know the easy way? Don't have a pic, but tie a stout rope between the two tiedowns in the bed up by the cab, with a single pulley in the middle of it. Take another rope, run it through the pulley, tie one end to the deer and the other to a tree ( or big rock, or whatever is handy) and just pull forward slowly, it'll pull right into the bed. Tie downs already in the truck, $10 pulley and $10 of rope and the whole rig fits under the seat when not in use..

i can see this working with a ramp of sorts or lifting part of the deer up to the tailgate to begin with, but if you just tie it around the deer's neck, you'll likely break the rope or sever the head before it just jumps over the tailgate and into the bed.
