I say total BS20-22mpg mixed doing 75-85mph on highways in the mountains and hills.....on 38s.
Its really a marvel of technology!
that’s coming from 14.5mpg on my 2020 gas max tow on 35s. Lowest I’ve seen is 19mpg that was with a lot of off-roading.I say total BS
I’m not sure your savings will be much since diesel is a whole dollar a gallon more and they cost more to maintenanceI've owned a Mojave for 11 months. Unfortunately I totaled it in an accident. I'm looking to purchase a new Gladiator and am considering the diesel option for fuel efficiency. I'm looking for REAL MPG numbers on the diesel from someone that owns one. My Mojave got 15-18mpg (City or freeway). Sticker states 17 city, 22 hwy. I could NEVER get it above 18 mpg. Since the Mojave doesn't have the diesel option, I'll have to go with the Rubicon.
Does anyone have the actual mpg for the Rubicon diesel option. (NOT what the sticker claims)
I'd like to know
- Daily all round driving MPG
- Freeway only driving MPG (NOT towing)
- Freeway driving pulling a travel trailer (Approx 5,000 lbs)
I live in Northern California, in the foothills at approx. 2,300' altitude.
Thank you
lol, yep total BSI say total BS
I get that in my gas driving 65 on a windy day, 28 on a non windy day, everything stockI have a 2021 JTRD currently 8,643 miles. Right now completely stock no changes. I live in Va around the Blueridge mts. Driving back and forth to work say 36 miles round trip. My average is 24-25 mpg. I have seen my mpg in the high 20s on interstate but I dont have any long straight trips to give you a direct highway mpg. I hope my 2 cents helps... p.s. I love the torque of the diesel and have ZERO regrets.
Seriously doubt that claimI get that in my gas driving 65 on a windy day, 28 on a non windy day, everything stock
I've just finished driving coast to coast and I've seen diesel with a 30 cent to 50 cent difference from gas in many states. Where the diesel shines is torque, something the 3.6 gas engine doesn't have. I can blow away any 3.6 on or off road with the torque difference the diesel offers and kick their butts with MPG too. As for maintenance buy the oil change packages in advance and it's much cheaper. In fact I bought 4 diesel oil changes and used my Jeep MasterCard rewards points and paid nothing for them. So free maintenance for the nezt 2+ yearsI’m not sure your savings will be much since diesel is a whole dollar a gallon more and they cost more to maintenance
I hope you have one of the good shops near you then. Judging by my experience and what one reads on the forum, you do not necessarily want maintenance done by Jeep (especially when they are a shop that are not earning from you)free maintenance for the nezt 2+ years
I agree the torque aspect would be nice but I also doubt the ecodiesel will be as reliable as the PentastarI've just finished driving coast to coast and I've seen diesel with a 30 cent to 50 cent difference from gas in many states. Well considering that the ONLY oil filter approved by Jeep to protect your warranty on the diesel is made and sold by Jeep and there are NO shops anywhere in AZ that can change the diesels oil due to that, where do you go ? The cheap Chinese filters sold on Amazon will void the warranty.I hope you have one of the good shops near you then. You’re right you don’t, they’re terrible at it, they always overtorque the drain plug, it’s always stripped as hell and you basically have to put in a new one after you manage to get out the one they stripped when you change the oil yourself.I hope you have one of the good shops near you then.
