Is it just me, or does this forum not seem to have as much activity as it used to? I remember it used to seem fairly consistent with new posts to read on.
Have most people gone to social media for their gladiator talk? What groups are the ones to hop on?
I hate to see forums just turning slowly into ghost towns. I have spent tons of years on forums, and I actually prefer them to the whole social media stuff.

Doesn't seem like as many crazy debates. Maybe all the good ones sold their Gladiators. Maybe there are less issues to talk about because everything has been fixed or no solutions. (There have not been any updates to the Tazer software for a year or more.)

Dammit, I'm trying!

Yes to all. We've seen it on a number of forums as the product ages and fewer new things or tricks are discovered.
It's also partly fakebook - anyone at all - literally- can create a "page" for any topic from duck decoys to whatever. You should see the new ones popping up daily to do with dogs and cats. I've been invited to get into 5 brand new pages on fakebook related to (not kidding!) - charging systems, starters and restorations there-of, wiper motors and zinc plating, and engine building. I've received a number of invites in the past week alone. One guy started a "fact" page for restorations and troubleshooting and invited me to be a "mod" - sorry, Dan, thanks but no.
Each of those will take away from other forums that handle the same topics.
It's simple - you have a fakebook account, maybe run the app on your phone, you are in with a single click.
The negatives - if someone asks me about certain starter parts, or the proper color of a Prestolite ESY motor and I respond, or if I lay out the bullet points for troubleshooting FoMoCo wiper systems or which drive is needed on which starter, it's fine for a while, but then disappears. On a forum, like has been done with a number of troubleshooting things I've posted elsewhere - it's a sticky at the top of that subject area. It's right there. FB - good luck finding it in a couple of months!
(still debating on becoming active in the fakebook invites I got for those electric systems, starters/alternators, and so on)

Forums usually are a place for new owners to share their excitement and for seasoned owners to share troubleshooting / experiences. As we know the "new owners" aspect is certainly declining. Sales peaked in 2021 around 90K units to 2025 Q1 around 12K units.

I prefer to lurk and participate in forums that are of interest to me. This forum seems fairly active, and the sister Wrangler forum is also very active.

I don't do deFace Book. In my opinion, nothing has accelerated divisesiveness and hate in our nation, and even amongst families, more than deFace Book.

the r/heep subreddit is pretty awesome too if anyone is bored. SFW btw, but reddit as a whole is not.

Ill have to look up heep. I am on just the gladiator reddit section. I still prefer forum layouts much better than facebook groups or reddit discussions.

Forums in general are a dying format, being replaced by subreddits and Facebook groups - neither of which I use.

I used to be on Reddit, but when they started banning the volunteers who grew and developed entire global communities for not bending the knee I knew it was time to nope out. The quality of reddit posts dropped significantly after that as staffers tried to take over moderating things they didn't understand and the most knowledgeable people left. The result was an ungovernable mess of trolls and novelty accounts with nothing to contribute. (And that disaster is what Google used to train the Gemini AI)

As for Facebook, I can't say. I never liked that platform and only had accounts for short periods because my wife was an OG Facebook user (back when you needed a .edu email to sign up). Meta and everything it owns could be erased from existence and nothing of value will be lost.

Forums have been on the down hill for YEARS now. Ever since Bookface come up with Groups. I personally hate Facebook groups. Just a on going thread of vomit of nonsense with zero organization. Forums are way way better in every way. I wish people would use forums more. When I got my first Jeep 13 years ago, I lived on the forums, back in the Pirate 4x4 days.

Maybe the tanking Gladiator sales.

Just speaking for myself, I'm on here every day as I'd guess many members are. I’m not an expert so I can’t help much with technical questions except for the few things I’ve done to mine. I check in several times a day to read what’s new and see if there is anything I can contribute to. Most of the new posts I see are questions from new members that have been asked many times.

I am a member of a couple of different FB Gladiator groups but most of those are people complaining about their vehicle. It is sad but I’m able to help more in those groups than here because the majority of questions come from people who don’t know to change their own oil much less install a lift.

To me, this forum has been invaluable. Without it, I’d have traded off my Gladiator within the first six months because of misfires and limp mode. Once the information was posted about cam crank relearn, and I finally convinced my dealer to do it, mine has been flawless since. Several hours of reading through this forum not only helped me decide on a lift but helped me install it and my slider steps. Reading through posts has also helped with countless smaller things. I may not post often but it is not because I’m not here.

Newness of the vehicle platform has worn off. Plus "Gatekeeping" by some can turn people off. Then there is usually a very small minority of usual suspects (I am guilty somewhat) doing 90% of the posting that can unintendingly seem to steer the general board vibe and turn off either existing members and/or steer other new members away.

Other platforms like what @Sweetums mentioned is probably the majority of it.

Search on many topics will get reddit results in the top of the results.
SEO is a big deal when people are looking - they tend to not go past the first few hits and settle with the top results.

Not counting the YT results and AI stuff - this is the 2nd hit from the top for "battery" - (Wrangler forums came up first, then this)

Gladiator forums were not even on the first page.

People don't go beyond a click or two to get a result.
