Sounds like it is more resistant as alot of people are complaining about it . But you do you boo
That's the internet for ya. They miss out on 60% of the cracks but when that other 40% hits, it's crap. The internet is where people come to complain. So it amplifies the real issues into something bigger.
People don't bother doing research, they see the GG name and automatically it's going to not ever crack, scratch or break or chip.
Those griping are the ones that ignored the times it held up but gripe when it cracks.
No one said it was bullet proof.
How about do some research aside from uninformed gripes?

The outside laminate of the GG windshield is regular windshield glass. The interior laminate is Gorilla Glass. You'll still get chips and cracks in the outer... Just sayin'...

Well, I am about to replace my Gorilla glass for the 2nd time in almost a year/20k miles, so take that for whatever you'd like.

I will say that I have heard a dozen or more equally loud thwacks from rocks hitting my windshield that didn't break it, so the 1st replacement held up nearly a year before it let go. The original windshield never stood a chance... semi going the opposite direction kicked up a golf ball sized rock 26 miles in from buying it...

I have the regular glass and I'm fine with that. My insurance is no deductible windshield replacement. My score card reads 1 windshield replacement, 1 rock chip fix.
So glad for no deductible windshield replacements, has saved my bacon many times over.

LOL, that's funny. Again, totally missing the whole point or even what it is. No, glass isn't glass. Maybe your "window guy" was sleeping in class.
YES, they will break - the outer layer will. But it's more resistant to certain impacts - something like 60% less likely to break.

In all seriousness to the OP, I have Gorilla Glass from the factory in my Gladiator. It was a $195 option at the time. I have taken a few hits that probably would have cracked a standard windshield over the past year. I wouldn't pay more than what I paid for the option from the factory. Especially when you can have a replacement covered by insurance.

My Gorilla glass cracked in two spots from the cold last month. I used auto start and when I got in hear two pops. Both were low near the defrost vents. Never had that happen before in any vehicle.

Fortunately the cracks are low, well below my sight line, but when I decide to replace it I won't be going with Gorilla glass.

You'll find a lot of discussion that might have answered your question before posting.
Yeah, but those threads are all full of hate, anger, and totally unreasonable expectations never having done any research into what it does and doesn't do.
And here we have another thread that is going down the same road.

My 2020 had regular glass and it lasted almost 3 years. My new Mojave was bought off the lot and happened to come with gorilla glass, a $295 option. I probably wouldn't have specified that option if I had ordered, but there are other options that cost more and I probably would have hesitated to get a few of them also. More importantly, I paid my insurance company about a dollar a month more to get zero deductible comprehensive. I think Shadows Papa made a very relevant comment about the inner layer helping to protect the occupants from the potential of flying glass in the event of a very hard hit to the windshield.

I bought it for passenger safety in event of collision that would normally send shards of inner glass into the faces of occupants.
I care about my wife's face and eyes, I bet she does, too.
I've seen results from working in a shop that did towing for the IHP and local police, and I've been in a couple whoppers myself where cleaning glass off me hours later wasn't fun. Those tiny little bits are like needles you can't see.

We help sellers get multiple offer for their car in as little as one business day.
I’m running the HGP Gorilla glass windshield. It took a few hits that would’ve severely damaged the regular windshield. It comes with a two-year warranty.
I took a BIG hit at 23 months, and it did this…

They sent me a warranty replacement.
At US prices, it cost me about $350 per windshield. I figured I’m saving money still, because in that 23 months I’d’ve probably needed at least 3 regular windshields.

Oh my... what cracked the glass like that??

I had an '04 Rubicon TJ from late Jan '04 until I gave it to my son Apr '22 and he's still driving it and no windshield cracks.

I bought a Gladiator in Apr '22 and everything they had on the lot new and used had a cracked windshield but one or two. Not sure about their Wranglers. They obviously replaced the windshield before I bought it and didn't replace with Gorilla or even mopar. No Jeep easter eggs or decals, etc.

That windshield cracked and was replaced in July. In Aug I got two little pin head dots half a centimeter apart on low left drivers side of that windshield and traded back to a Wrangler Sept 2, '22 so not sure if they grew or not.

I've taken at least two loud hits on the interstate in this Wrangler and no marks at all and it came with the Gorilla glass (or least it was on the paper and I paid for it)

Christmas we had that big snow storm (big for us in TN) and -6F and -20F wind chill. No cracks or anything - fingers crossed it stays that way. I never gave my windshield much though all these years of Jeep ownership until my 5-6 mos of Gladiator ownership, now I'm paranoid all the time with each little noise on the hwy.

Where I get the most paranoid is on group rides. Everyone's tires get filled with rocks and then we get back on the hwy and I hear myself and everyone around me throwing rocks everywhere when we get to hwy speeds.
