My 43x MOS arrived yesterday so I went down and filled out the paperwork. Our current NICS wait time is 7-10 days.

Purchased 4/26, delivered 5/3, in possession... 5/12-13?

These laws are f**king stupid.

3 years ago a CC permit allowed a purchaser to walk out with the purchase same day.

Fortunately that's not the case in NC, but I don't get that law. I own over 30 firearms. Not sure what making me wait to pick up a new one in 7-10 days is supposed to accomplish.

I was a raging gunaholic for most of my adult life. Now Iā€™m in the latter part of middle age and just seem to have lost most of my interest. I still have 15 or 20 in the safe and occasionally take them out but the fever has waned. Donā€™t know why, my tastes have changed and thereā€™s just a lot of other things Iā€™d rather do with my time for some reason.
This is me. I had a huge safe full of firearms. Now I am down to a select few. I was target shooting every weekend. The price of ammo and availability slowed me down and my interest just kind of dwindled. There are 3 firearms I wish I never sold:

Wilson Combat CQB in .45 ACP - Purchased when they were 'only' $1,700
Sig Sauer P220 Made in West Germany
S&W 686 no dash in .357 Mag

I really miss those. Once I started target shooting a lot I went to GLOCK. They are not pretty but they flat out work. They take a beating.

The "justification" for a waiting period is the buyer will calm down and not want to harm themselves or others.

And yes, for those of us who already own firearms it's a moot point.

FFLs used to run the BG checks at time of purchase. Now the local LEO office (eventually WA State Patrol) do it. Apparently, dealers would run the checks, send the paperwork to the local LEO (local to the firearm owner), who would then run another BG check. <facepalm>

Not to mention CC permits are supposed to be checked yearly by LEO.

Lest we forget, WA also now has a "training" requirement before buying any semi-auto rifle to make sure you know that people die of suicides from guns, among other things.

AR-15 I built with stealth gray fixtures on the grip, front and rear sight, stock and charging handle sitting on the front bumper of my wifeā€™s sting gray JL. Seems to match pretty close. Eotech 512 with 3x magnifier, Radian Raptor charging handle, rest is all Magpul equipment.

AK-103 I also built. Switched out the folding stock to a Magpul PRS Lite which can still fold but not lock which is handy for transport. Midwest Industries rail attachment, Hogue grip, Slate Black rail grips, cheese grater, TDI Arms handguard, Primary Arms ACSS 2x Prism 7.62 sight.

I found a 686M at an FFL's on consignment (sketchy to do that in California) and it was on day one of 30 day hold. I put $500 on it right then and there. $600 plus tax/DROS/CA tax. This was six-seven years ago, I swear that's a great price in CA.

Brought it back to work from the 10 day jail and got offered $700 by our Safety boss.

Yeah, no.

Yeah, no.
I have 2 686's. One is a 4" barrel. That was my duty gun when I worked on an armored car. And a 6" barrel. That was my first wifey's target gun. Both have trigger jobs on them.
