Just watched a video that compared a max tow and a no tow package. The max tows heavy duty cooling is just the bigger fan, both had transmission coolers. Someone posted that on his Ram truck, the max tow had a thicker radiator, the video didn't check that part out.

But, the Gladiator is already rated for almost 8,000 pounds. another 2k isn't all that much add'l weight.

And you have to figure that FCA made the weight rating lower than what it could actually tow for liability reasons.
It's actually rated around 7650 MAX. To get to 10k is almost 33% increase. Not that much additional weight? Lol.

Armchair engineers talking about towing over the max rating on public roads putting others lives in jeopardy just to go on a forum and say "I told you so" are ______________.

I can think of lots of words to fill in the blank.

So, for those interested I'm shooting a video this coming weekend on the differences between a Gladiator with HD cooling and a Gladiator with zero cooling or towing add-ons. We'll get to the bottom of this.
did you ever make that video?

Got my Gladiator max tow yesterday. Going to put to the test next weekend towing in extreme heat.

Yea but it didn't turn out like I hoped. Wished I had done less yappin' and more showin'. I tend to ramble too much.

As far as the cooling situation is concerned after watching your video I was wondering of the main radiator and/or the tranny cooler might be thicker. Sometimes that's done to get more cooling in a tight space.

either way I bet an aftermarket radiator and transmission cooler would be cheaper//same price but way better

I know I’m resurrecting an old thread there.

local dealership has a gladiator in stock with everything I want except it doesn’t have the tow package. How big of a deal is the bigger fan if I am not towing often? Would having larger tires put enough strain on it to require the bigger fan after I lift the Jeep?

If you plan to be towing anything significant (over 2k pounds), I would not buy unless it is equipped with a Tow Package.

If you have the automatic transmission and factory installed Tow Package, it should be 6k.
