I had Spitfires as well. Saying about the electronics:
“Why do the British drink warm beer? They have Lucas refrigerators.”
”Lucas switch, OFF, DIM, and FLICKER.”

Thanks for bringing up the memories!
Nice memories, indeed.
Had mine for about 28 years and new every screw and bolt ...

Welcome.

I see a hard top in your future, especially if it is your daily.

Thanks. I may just have a hard top one day -- but I'm going to hold out!
Just keep in mind, they are hard to find on the secondary market used if you decide to look for one down the road.

I finally got a Gladiator. I've wanted a true Jeep for many years. When the Gladiator was announced I was excited, but I could never find one that was just basic. Then the prices kept going up. But the 15% discount brings the price back down -- so I bought one.

I've got the ragtop. Question: what do you ragtop guys do about ice on the rear window? Is there something you spray on it to keep it from icing? I've never had a ragtop.

Anyway, glad to be on the team pun intended.
I have the soft top and have never had a problem with ice. I live in Baltimore, for reference.

dont be dissuaded by all the hard heads they will always cite issues with soft tops even if they havent had one
I took my first trip today at highway speed, in freezing rain. No complaints. I don't find it loud at all.

...I ran the brush over this morning and it did f-all. Didn't want to use the scraper on the plastic.
You may not want to use the brush either if it touches the plastic. You don't want to make scratches, even very fine ones. Fine scratches add up to hazy windows. That is my experience with my TJ, and YJ before that.

I know of no product to keep ice off the plastic windows. With my TJ I just don't look out the rear window when it is iced over.
