Anyone know of any hardware that fits our trail rail so we can attach our own custom stuff? Like, whatever special nut that slips in there? I think I've read that the Toyota and Nissan stuff works, but I don't have much confirmation on if that is true or not.

If we had a nut that we can use, then sky is the limit on how to use the trail rail. I'm in the process of building my own fishing rod holder and I'm thinking of simplifying the frame, and using the trail rail for more of the support.
Did you find any "t-nuts" or anything that fits well in the Trail Rail?

I just read that at spring nut (made for "unistrut") could work. Haven't tried it yet though.

I have aunistrut rail system because it was way cheaper and far more versatile.

Has anyone compared this to the ones in the Tacoma?
They look pretty similar in the pics.

I just ordered these:

I don't have much to go on to know if they fit or not. My plan is to somehow attach my DIY rod holder rack to the trail rail with this. We will see. I'll most likely post an update to my fishing rod holder thread once I'm done.

I purchased some of them from Amazon that look very similar to the one's with the Mopar system but they are for the Tacoma. They seem to fit ok but they do not work well if you have a hard tri fold bed cover. But they will work for now until Built Right comes out with theirs for the rails hopefully soon

Let us know how they work out I was thinking of getting a set of those with some Rings and screws to add to the rails

Nice - send a pic when you get them. Curious how they will fit in the trail rail.

I just got a 2" wide strip of 1/8 aluminum and plan to cut to proper length to fit in the trail rail. I'm hoping I'll have enough room to fit a box wrench behind there to hold a bolt head. *fingers crossed*

So far, my rails have just been an expensive dune flag holder. An idea from another forum member using Unistrut parts. But, I had to run a flag with the tonneau cover open. So, I made my own flag mount to run over the top of the bed so I can run with the cover closed.
Next up is fabbing some drop downs from the rails to mount some Quick-Fist clamps for a shovel and and axe.

How is everyone using their rail system?
Mine has a singular purpose.... I four-point this big prick to the bed rug and he stops sticking his noggin through the rear window to bark at me. Just kidding, no need to report me to the ASPCA.

if I recall, when I did a dry fit On mine, the hi-lift was not a good fit but don’t quote me on that. I opted to mount it on the side and put my shovel and ax on the front. For reference the ax is a 28” fiskers

Those panels are from BuiltRight Industries. They make pretty good stuff. I had a set in my 23 Colorado ZR2.
