Don’t really care about the plug. I doubt I would ever use a plug in the truck bed. Just would be nice to be able to get the 4 tie downs in the bed plus the lockable cover for the storage box under the rear seat plus the actual trail rail system, and all on the base Sport model. Have had manual windows, mirrors and locks before, really no big deal having that instead of it all power.

This would be good news if this is the case. I would certainly order a Sport with that.

Does anyone know if the factory tonneau folding cover utilizes the rail system? I noticed you can add the cover without having the cargo management package on the online builder.

I would have said the same thing...but now I’ve got a portable fridge-freezer and am REALLY looking forward to dropping it in the back and plugging it in...next step will be a dual battery.

Looks like a $900 option. I'm trying to decide if I'd ever use it.

They already have dual batteries, don't they?

The second battery is just a smaller one for ess
Right, but I think it basically isolates the big battery so all it does is run accessories and the smaller battery starts it and only starts it. I used the setup on my JLUR for a year and never was able to kill it - I think you'd have to kill the main battery completely dead to have an issue as all it has to do is be able to switch the solenoid to activate the other battery which will start the engine, so I don't know if another battery would be necessary unless you were really pushing the accessory battery. My fridge ran on propane so it wasn't a big issue, but I ran a bunch of other electronics on it and never had an issue, the ESS battery would always start it.

Sorry but $895 is just way too much for a couple of aluminum tracks and a power outlet...
The Trail Rail Systems also includes the lockable storage compartment under the rear seat. If you don't get this package you just get an open storage tray under the rear seat.

You’ll probably want to run 12V for that fridge, otherwise you’ll be wasting a lot of energy converting from 12V to 110C back to 12V.

If I had known that you do get a storage tray I may have not taken the $900 option. I assumed that without the Cargo Management Package, you'd get nothing under the rear seats, similar to how JLU is set up. The salesmen, of course, had no pictures to show me of both setups.

Bed outlet won’t run of the power tailgate lock (12volt) wiring. There will be a small inverter in the truck that inverts 12 volt battery power to 110 volt ac and carry that power through a dedicated set of wires to the bed outlet and a/c outlet in the console. As someone else pointed out about all the wires being preloomed from the factory, they basically have different looms depending on option list. Base sport with no option has taillight/bedlight wiring only in the loom. Sport S and up trims adding tailgate lock wiring to their loom and then if either have have trail rail, a 120 volt a/c wire pair is added to that loom. Line workers will have code telling them which loom to grab for each vehicle coming down the line based on said options. If doing aftermarket, you would have to run your own wiring from battery to an inverter and from there to the bed outlet.
