First one lasted about 2 years, then had it replaced. About 8 months has gone by, and I just noticed a 4" crack dead center going straight up... Ugh. Taking bets which direction it'll go from there, haha. Probably going to try and wait till after salt/cinder season to get this one replaced.

Purchased Gladiator in August 22. Was driving down interstate to Dr appointment last Friday and when a pickup passed me a rock flew up and hit on the driver's side about 3" in from side. Nothing in front of me in my lane so it had to come from the pickup. Safelite repaired it yesterday and did a good job.

Ive been through two, one OEM the other Gorilla Glass. I took advice from one forum member, don't ride anyone's ass. Stay a good distance away. I'm going on a year now, no flinging rocks thankfully.

Y'all had me super nervous, so I added $0 deductible glass coverage to vehicle insurance when I purchased the Gladiator 4 months ago. Haven't had to use it yet.

Howdy All,

Well, after nearly 9 months of Gladiator ownership I too have joined the ranks of busted windshields. Driving down the road at 60mph, no other traffic on the road in either direction, smooth, dry, clean paved road and all of a sudden from where I don't know something HARD hit the windshield dead center at the very top of the glass. Big ole smack looks like a rock may have have been shit by a bird or something don't know how else it could have happened. Anyway, small cracks now spreading in different directions, it doesn't interfere with my vision so I am not going to replace it until it's nessisary.

Took about a year before a rock cracked it. The Safelite repair has been working for almost a year now as well.

Sounds like the rock came from you. Rock throws forward and you run into it. It happened to me aT 40 mph but only chipped. pretty common thing I’ve heard here on other posts. I actually made deflectors for front bumper and hasn’t happened since.

Got my first rock strike yesterday. Chip on the passenger side. Gonna fox it tomorrow. Pissed me off as it was 200’ from the turn off into my sons HS.

Remote started the Jeep during a recent cold snap. Wind chill was down to -20. Came out to the Jeep and had a 5” crack starting at the defrost vent on the driver side up. Gorilla glass and mopar declined the warranty. So much for the GG upgrade

Second windshield Safelite appointment on Friday to fix the crack. Hopefully it all goes well and lasts another year. Stupid gravel spreader in the snow.

Back in December mine did almost exactly the same thing. During my 9th month of ownership I was on the dirt road leaving my house and I was the only vehicle on the road driving about 35mph. A rock came up over the hood on driver's side and hit the bottom of my windshield in front of the steering wheel. The crack starts bottom edge in front of the wheel, comes up 4 or 5 inches then runs toward passenger side and goes down to edge in front of the glove box. Since it isn't directly in my line of sight, I'm planning to wait until spring before replacing it. My local glass shop quoted me $285 installed for aftermarket glass and $400 for oem. Unless something changes between now and replacement, I'm leaning toward aftermarket glass. As easily as these things crack, is there any reason not to save a few bucks over oem?

I'm almost scared to comment, but I am at 9 months, 10k miles since I took it home and have yet to pick up a chip or crack. Have had some rocks hit that sounded bad, but nothing so far.

That said, the day I after I bought it I made sure to lower my deductible to account for possible windshield claims. Glass claims are free, but only if it is repairable.
