There ya go - you got that figured out. Bummer that it's going to cost a bunch, but you have things nailed down now anyway.
yep. As I was going down this rabbit hole I figured best case I’d have a spare old battery now but not even that.
It’s fine tho — two new quality batteries that should keep me good for another 2-3 years until they fail and I get two new free ones 😂

Fyi for any future search.

Below is my parasitic draw test. Truck parked for over an hour. Doors locked with just the hood open. Everything are off. It draws a quarter amp. 12.6V before the test and 12.8V each when separated the batteries. Never seen a draws that high with any of my other vehicles before. A slightly weak battery might works find in other vehicles but it won't survive here.

Is that from the service manual? I'm curious what others are drawing. Nothing is on that I'm aware of. I'm a little surprised that my original nearly 5yr old main battery still good. I went to Japan for 3 weeks back in July and it had nonissues started right up. Aux batt replaced a few years ago and my electrical related mods hasn't changed.

Move the key way inside your house as far away as possible...or wrap it in aluminum foil/ throw it inside the microwave before doing this test. Let the truck fully go to sleep.

I’ll test it with my faraday box after it sleeps for an entire night and report back in the next few days.

Yeah, if it's in communication range............. it's not a great test.

TIP - don't turn the microwave on, just in case someone is wondering

Average of 13mA for 24 hours
0.013 is a whole lot less than 0.250

I wish I felt like measuring my fully loaded 2025..................
