How many law breakers are there in New Jersey? Or, are you curious if your non-NJ JT is illegal someone other than where you live?

Would take a real whacker to write you a ticket for lift.

I'm not at all against height limits. If you're ever in a car or a normal height SUV, it helps to make sure the heights are close enough to where one vehicle isn't overrunning the other completely in an accident. There are also minimum bumper height laws, which, again, I have no problem with.

Interesting post. I’m originally from NJ and will be heading north this summer, so it’s good to know.
Totally stock Willys, so no issues here.

They call if the Wild West in my parts. I’d much rather live in the Wild West than the overly regulated East. That plus snow, it’s cool for a day, but forget that noise.

I'm ok with these types of regulations. It's better than the end result of a 9 inch lift hitting a Toyota Camry.

Yes, but correct me if I’m wrong, my 2 inch lift on 37’s looks to be illegal to drive in Jersey.

You don't live there, so you should still be legal to drive there. You just would have to jump though hoops to get it inspected if you moved there.

PS: This is what I drove when I lived in NJ. No, it never went through the lift inspection. Do they still do the whole weight distribution test when if it flips you fail?

I even provided a tldr that explicitly states 38.5 inch tires with a 4.5 inch lift is still legal, as long as you don't have a stubby bumper and you have either no poke or mud flaps on the rear.

37s on a 2 inch lift just needs a lifted vehicle inspection
