And, at the risk of stating the obvious, everyone knows
that the center console has an upper and lower compartment
so you have a place to keep your pistol.

Jeep Gladiator I can’t be the only one who didn’t know this - Center Console Lock! Glp1RJxkGFnL8c7QHfjihxTK3x6PLMphBK2G3WMzYNOt=w2400

This is why I have separated my key from my key fob.
So I can hand off the fob to parking attendants and garage mechanics.

The Kel-Tec PF9 pictured may be the only 9mm and above that fits.

Kinda hard with no ignition switch on the Gladiator.
If my father-in-law had a Gladiator, the fob would be in the console somewhere. I wish we all could live in a place where there is no worry about having you car stolen or broken into.

At one time, before a crazy boating accident that caused all my guns to sink to bottom of the ocean, I had a little 40S&W that would easily fit in there. Man I miss those guns.?

No offense, but did you read any of these replies? The back seat lock has been mentioned several times in this thread.
No, did not read all the replies. Thank you!

A friend used to keep his locked up in his car, no one knew about it, and it could not be seen.
He went out to his car one morning to find the pistol gone, nothing else missing.

Besides, the glove compartment and consoles are so cheaply made and the locks so lame, it wouldn't take much of a tool to get into them when locked.
Both are places I'd never keep anything important or of value. I bet I could get into the glove box with just my hands, maybe the same for the console.

The reason I chose a Kel-Tec PF9
in addition to its micro-compact size
was because it was so inexpensive.
It would be no great loss if it was stolen.

Having the pistol on one's person is better
and I do have a tiny .32 ACP Seecamp
when I feel the need to carry all day every day,
when I am traveling for example,
but sometimes being armed is not an option.

Back on topic, I still have not read the owner's manual.
My 11-year old grandson showed me some stuff
on the instrument cluster I did not know about.
His mom, my daughter, has a 2016 JK RHR.
Kids are not afraid to push buttons and touch icons.

That's rather funny because it's my wife who I can't get to slow down and stop clicking on things before reading.
My grandson will be 11 (if you go by US birth dates) and while my son and I are trying to put things together my grandson, with book in hand, is saying wait wait, I'll show you - do it like this.................
Yeah, he's a kid, an experimenter and on the computer is wild with things - but he's a book person. Shelves of books.

3 months of ownership and I notice this last night as I installed some Gibson leather phone holsters (which are AWESOME! btw)

I knew the rear seat backs locked and the glove box locked, but this, nope! ?

I know this is probably known by most, but figured there had to be others like me out there that didn’t. I’ll take the public humiliation to help others out.

I did not know that!!
I just looked/glanced though my entire owners manual looking for something else, but did not notice or find that the center console locks!! NICE!!

I’m surprised this hasn‘t been mentioned…..or I missed it.

The lock on the back seats only locks the UPPER part of the seat. It does NOT lock the lower seats.

And I will mention….. If you lock the back seats….. You need to lock both sides because you can easily access the ‘locked’ side from the unlocked side.

Don’t forget about the ‘bluetooth’ speaker back there. A good idea to keep the seat locked.

Pretty sure the doors lock too!
Not when they’re off

They do. You can lock them before you take them off. That way nobody can open them with them in storage.

Spends hours combing the forums, won't take 30 minutes to flip through the manual.
Especially when the manual is able to be downloaded and searched.
