I ordered the OEM trail rail system to install in by truck bed, but the guy that shipped it to me put it in a box with two open ends, enclosed only with packing tape, so the hardware packet slipped out of the box during shipping, and I don't have any of the screws or the rivnuts to install it. He offered me a partial refund for the lost hardware, but the issue is I don't know what to order to replace it all. Can someone with the trail rail system tell me what size the screws are so I can go to the hardware store and buy some replacement screws? I found the rivnuts on Quadrartec's website, and they're around $17 each. I'm looking on the various MOPAR part stores online now for a cheaper option. Thanks in advance.

If you lost the entire hardware packet just pick up some hardware from the local big box or order a full rivnut kit off amazon and take that partial refund. You’ll probably come out ahead. You’re in a better starting place than if you only lost half the hardware.

Good suggestion.

If the suggestion from @Bandit’s Lair doesjt work out, I’ll happily take one of my bolts out and get you the specs. Mine already had the threaded holes. I just had to install the bolts. Mine is a 21. Did they stop shipping them with the threaded holes? The only two suggestions were those two in the rear. As far as I’m concerned, those are optional. Plenty strong without them.

Agree on the rear ones. I didn't install rivnets or bolts there as I wanted those holes for light wiring. Plenty strong with just the side screws in the already welded in nuts

The bed still has the threaded holes. The trail rail kit comes with only 2 rivnuts for the wholes in the rear. My thought right now is to go to Ace Hardware a buy a bunch of screws until I find the ones that fit and just forget the rivnuts. I spoke to the local dealership about this, and they said the only way to get the hardware is with the kit. They can't even look up the specs on the screws for me.

That dealership is almost certainly wrong. But getting bolts from the hardware store is fine. But if you want to avoid corrosion, Belmetric.com is an awesome resource for automotive type fasteners, in the same finishes, zinc flake being an example.

This is accurate. Dealership can look at the components but the actual bolt size isn’t listed in their spreadsheets. It has a part number for the bolts. Of course those bolts are about $7-8 each. I learned that when trying to find info for the bed slider rails (or whatever they’re called).

This is what BAM has for the individual parts (#4 bolt, #8 rivnut). I think the bolt part number is a hex head. Mine came with Torx head bolts, but either should work. These are expensive, so just as others said, a trip to the hardware store could save you some money.

$17 should get you a whole box of 100 M6 rivnuts, lol. Nothing magic about the one Mopar supplies. As for the bolts, any 10.9 M6 hex-head cap screw and washer will do. I’ve had mine on and off a bunch for various reasons, and there’s nothing special about the fasteners. No need for the captured-washer versions they supply.

McMaster-Carr is helpful to explore all the options in threaded fasteners if you want to expand your vocabulary.

As a side note, if you've got a spray in bed liner, pick up a tap to clean the threaded holes. Many folks have had difficulty trying to thread hardware into junked up holes.

Thank you all for the information. I know what I'll be doing this weekend.
